Can't find cheaper by at least £40. Bought myself just now after agonizing for weeks over which is the better set for the money.
Batteries alone are worth £100+
I guess the price has gone back up?

I've been looking to, this or the DCK2500P2B-GB which I assume has a lesser drill.
I can see this version is £275 - the discount
DeWalt DCK266P2-GB

I have this set, been great tools for the money. They have been around a while now tho (late 2015 i believe) so there are newer/better tools available from other brands, however i still think they hold their own at this price point. Durability, reliability and price/perf have been on point, however there are a few things i dislike. First both of these tools have a lot of wobble on the chuck/collet, not sure why, but i noticed almost right away. Second there is no handle for the drill on the 2 speed model (DCD796), in fact there isn't a way to even mount a handle so this isn't an option which is annoying, the handle is only available on the 3 speed model (DCD996 like in the deal in this thread).
Just throwing my 2 pence in for what its worth. Best of luck.

Edit: Also should have mentioned, the drill balances nice with 5AH batt, but the impact balances better in the hand with a 2AH batt, again just my opinion.

Looks like it's increased £5, still cheapest I've seen it this year.

The handles should be mandatory eh. This is replacing the top spec Hitachi I have that has done my wrist in twice, becasue it does not have a handle nor option to have one.

That was odd, corrected it.
How’s it compare to Makitas 481?

They are powerful, but chuck is the weak point on these as mentioned, wobbly if you apply more than average pressure and have to really tighten the drill bit otherwise it will keep slipping if working on steel.

I have honestly heard that about every single combi drill I have seen reviews for, over the last 15 years. Be it Bosch, Hitachi, Dewalt or Makita. I've had drills where its an apparent problem and it wasn't, which left me thinking there must be a lot of user error about. Also I'd recommend the drill bits you get that aren't totally smooth round, the bit that goes in the chuck, it ends up with a much greater grip.

I know what you mean, but sometimes it's down to each specific model and use. Comparing to my old Hitachi and Millyakee, the chuck/bearing certainly is not as good. On the newer models maybe the comparison turns out different. Tbf, been used on heavy machinery repairs, so get heavier than average use. On the other hand, my sparky mate, who is fully dewalt kitted for years, swears by them.

Great price. This is as good a set as you you can buy for this kind of cash. I got it for slightly cheaper around this time last year (£300 minus 20% ebay deal so £260) but I've not seen a set at this price since, and believe me I keep looking! I bought my apprentice the milwaukee twin set at £230 from screwfix a month or two back, but wish this deal was available, and I'd waited. By far worth the extra few quid.
Well done OP!

Was it dcf796 or dcf996 that u got
This was going for £240 last year. hotukdeals.com/dea…823 I just missed that and ended up paying £250 with 4ah batteries. Awesome bits of kit. I seem to use the impact driver more than the drill now. Also got a spare 4ah battery for about 30quid.
I find the 996 a beast.. takes anything I throw at it ...
I can't get on with the 7** series as I find the "finger" of material above the trigger is completely in the way of the torque control/drill/hammer selector so can't recommend that series, but imho you can't go wrong with this set!! Nice price..great tools.

It was the 996. Same set as this, in the toughsystem case.
Ah... they just delivered it.... but sent me the wrong set. Let's see how good FFX resolve for me 🤞

I called and spoke to a lady called Lauren. She asked me to email an image of what had been sent... I've already chased her and she said they have a large number of calls and emails.... I guess theres been a few. I almost felt as though she thought I'd made it up!

I'd call them, I've sent proof and still nothings been sorted, very frustrating when it's there issue. Good old "they're in a meeting" so I'm unsure how they actually manage with one person off the phones.. rant over
I'd suggest you open the box and take a picture of the actual drills and send that too. I've just been informed I have to do this now... at 16.51 . They close at 5PM how fortunate.
Mmm, checked inside and it's the correct drill..seems they make up the kits....
