Power Tools. With batteries are useless

My drill, impact driver and reciprocating saw disagree
From what I can tell, sam_of_london has a "dewalt" notification set up which triggers the "battery power tools are rubbish" comments as it's not the first time I've seen it spouted.

I have a set of DeWalt 18v tools and they are superb when paired with a decent capacity battery - I got 2x5ah with my kit and I can easily complete pallet a wood project on a single charge (ripping down a pallet with the reciprocating saw, cutting the wood to size with the circular saw and putting it all together with the drill driver, finishing off by sanding it with the multitool). That's the opposite of "rubbish" in my book - that's quite impressive.

Stonking price, I paid a tenner less for the bare unit so with battery and case for this price it’s a steal!

That's not the case at all.

They have no stock so the Amazon price has disappeared. The price you mention is by a third party.

These things are pretty rubbish IMO.
Great deal, gutted I missed it

Don’t be too downhearted’ think of it as this - you’ve saved yourself £110
Power Tools. With batteries are useless
I paid around £120 for the bare unit a couple of years ago.

This is a good price but no where near the £358 they state is the original price.

Maybe 15-20 years ago but they are excellent now.

How did you form your opinion?
Sam of London. Clearly power tools with batteries aren’t useless otherwise thieves wouldn’t go round with cordless grinders and mobile mechanics etc do amazing work. Only comment if you have something productive to bring to the table. This deal is an amazing deal but yes it is very unfortunate it was only on for a very short amount of time!
Amazing price
Excellent deal

You sir are talking rubbish. Unless you based your opinion on ALDI power tools, they are far from useless.

Putting my 3 on eBay lol
Thanks I ordered one straight away I hope I get it !
Looks like a mistake to me. Far too cheap at £109. I've got this and other DeWalt gear. I've build a 5x3 meter summer house from scratch with just my DeWalt gear. Most of it purchased via deals from this very site. So much hate on almost every deal, proper shame.

I built a 25m2 raised decking area with nothing but ALDI tools so you sir, are also talking rubbish. Drill, impact driver and circular saw all battery from ALDI.

Except I'm not though - I got the 39.99 SDS drill from ALDI and used it to re-hang a garden gate, it was absolutely dreadful. Terrible battery life and the hex screwdriver adapter fell apart. Suffice to say it was promptly returned and the funds put towards a more reliable drill.

I make informed posts and not just slag something off because it's popular to do so.

My original comment you quoted was flippant but nowhere did I say they were all crap. I stand by my remark that this drill was dreadful quality, and if it had been my first and only venture into battery power tools then I would have probably thought the same as sam_of_london, but I found something better that works for me.

I'm glad you are happy with your ALDI tools. I've had many decent products from ALDI, this wasn't one of them unfortunately.
