I overpaid for this a few weeks ago but it was money well spent regardless. Excellent piece of kit that’s had many uses so far. Heat from me
The variable speed trigger makes this unsuitable for delicate jobs

That's why I haven't pulled the trigger on it, even though it is a good price.
I've got a worx corded one, which has a variable speed dial, and a on/off switch. Having cordless isn't worth the reduced control on the speed.
If the newer version comes down to a similar price I might buy it (it has a 3-speed selector & a variable speed trigger)

Which Worx 1 do you have please?

is it worth £50?

I got mine for ~£30 I think when it was on a deal at homebase. I'd definitely say its worth it for that. I've used it a lot to cut bits of floorboards, sections of studs etc.

I've used it for sanding a couple of times too, and works OK & is good for getting into tight spots compared to an orbital sander.

I'd say an oscillating tool is a very useful tool to have in your arsenal, but it depends what tasks you're trying to do.

Bloody hell, that’s cheap!
Yes I had 1 but died on me! Returning n getting refund from Aldi. Poor quality as I’ve barely used it.

Yea, was part of a clearance I think. It looks like worx are generally China made, but mine generally feels well built (only issue I've had, is the release handle vibrates loose from the clip whilst using. It doesn't loosen the cutting blade or anything, just flaps about a bit), and I've had it for about 3 years, and have been using it as part of a whole house refurb, and is still going strong.

It was definitely a bargain! I've just double checked. It was £30 from homebase, I bought on the 20th Dec 2017. I think it was based off a thread on here, but not 100% sure

Awesome, think I’m going to buy the 1 from Argos or Toolstation for approx £50.
3 yr guarantee too, can’t go wrong.

I think it’s just the wattage that’s different 250w is the WX686.

I can't see there being a huge difference all at the cheap end, so will probably be as good as any other similar price. I haven't used it though, so can't say for sure.
