Can you simply pull out the drill insert and use it as a standard TSTAK case?

I can confirm it does, just use a Dremel or similar and file most of the plastic back on the side that holds the tool, can use a foam/sponge inlay to stop it moving around.

I did order some recently with the drill, driver and charger inlay. That was simply held in with two foam pads that were stuck with double sided tape. Super easy as the inlay just lifts out when the foam pads are removed. It was the PowerToolMate 5 pack but you can buy singly too. The product code is DWST1-70703. I think the single is still 14.99 (inc. VAT) and the 5 pack is 67.99. hey also do a 10 pack too! This Hot UK Deals one is way cheaper if you only want the case and don't mind a bit of DIY. Hope that helps.
