Well, I can understand HUKD can't encourage people to go out to the shops but they're an essential retailer it seems and customers are able to click and collect for £9.99.

Seen this a couple of times. I'm all for sensible advertising, but it's not coherent across the board. Tesco alcohol deals are fine for store pick up, but halfords click and collect are not. Both stores offer essential items but yet there seems to be moderation difference between the two. For me it's the responsibility of the retailer to dictate the rules.

So how come Costco none essential instore deals are allowed? IE televisions

But a deal like this which is an essential item from an essential shop where you can collect safely from the front of the store isn't allowed?

Right so because there is a message added that allows an instore deal to be added.

But doing a click and collect order, waiting for confirmation to collect and then collecting safely isn't?

So it's OK to travel to a store and risk the item not being in stock (unecesaary travel) but me going to collect an item that has been confirmed as being there and allocated isn't?

I've personally done a click and collect at toolstation and they serve you at the front loading doors after you que, confirm your order number, grab your order and go.
I sound like I'm having ago, but to me it honestly does not make sense

I think many places have had knee jerk reactions and are trying to do the best they can. Unfortunately most of these rules were brought In without much thought behind them in haste, and I fully agree that many decisions in moderation havent made sense or at the very least contradict other posts from other stores. If a store can legally advertise click and collect on their website and not be breaking the lockdown rules or laws, then I have no idea why there needs to be an additional big brother to pick and choose on here. Infact it almost goes as far as false or certainly negligent advertising. Promoting delivery is absolutely fine, warranted, and sensible, but rejecting click and collect only deals from essential stores, or removing that click and collect is an option in the item description but advertising in store deals is hypocritical at best. At the end of the days it's a free platform and we abide by their rules! Always worth checking if C+C is available and you happen to be making a trip to that store for essential goods any way
