Bargain for the price especially if you already have battery and charger. But anyway it's cheapest I've seen.
Wanted one of these for ages but can't justify it right now. Just my luck :(.
I use this at work for heavy duty anchor bolts. It can easily shear a 16mm diameter bolt. Would easily snap a wheel stud as well. Heat for the price.

I use this driver whilst at work driving in M16 x 200mm concrete thunder bolts, doesn't even slow it down. Heavy well built all metal gears this is cheaper than the 250Nm dcf880 is priced on other sites
Beast use with extreme caution. Heat
Any idea how much the batterie(s) & charger would cost?
This is THE driver to have!
Mega torque gets the job done without messing about. If you need to control it there are 3 settings (approx 100Nm, 300(?)Nm and full-whack).
I’ve used it on car and commercial vehicle suspension systems and drive trains without any problems - just make sure you have some decent impact sockets to match.
It is heavy, but if that is a concern then maybe you wouldn’t be doing the type of job that needs this!
At this price HOT
I need to put a mirror up, will this do the job?
Any other uses I can justify buying it for haha

£218 quick price check on Amazon thats based on the wrench, battery and charger. I was looking to get one but do not think I will use it much!
I could not open audi a4 cv joint bolt with this and i was very surprised. But it did made it a lot easier to remove it because usually i have to use breaker bar and some sort of extension to get it lose but now i had to barely use breaker bar. I didn't try long maybe if i had tried longer... Had almost full 5ah .. But i still love it helps me every time i have to go under the car.

Why would you want to snap a wheel stud?
For people that need a ¾inch version of the same tool search DCF897 (not at this price unfortunately)

£50 will get you a "looks like DeWALT" 4Ah battery and charger from ebay. Which makes getting this and a genuine charger battery for 218 a hot deal if your using this to start on the yellow team platform.
Great tool.... Paid £260 a few years back for the tool, 2x 5ah batteries, charger and plastic case.
I bought one of these about 1 year ago for the farm. I have got to say, it is the best tool I have bought in ages. Why oh why didn't I buy it eariler!! It saves time and alot of energy. I did my research first and this Dewalt unit came out the best of all the manufacturers. I'm tempted to buy another actually.
Just to note, this is the detent pin version which isn't an issue unless you want to do lots of quick socket changes. If so, then the hog ring version is the one you want.
Love mine, had it a couple of years and I haven't found anything I can't undo with it. Use it every time I switch between the summer and winter wheels on my car.

It's fine as long as you make sure you don't line the pin up with the hole on the socket when you put the socket on!

Maybe the Audi has some rubber bushings in the CV joints - an impact drivers effectiveness is always reduced by elasticity simply by the fact that it applies the high torque over such a short period that the rubber absorbs the energy rather than allowing it to be passed through to the thread. Having said that I’ve never had it fail to release anything similar by persevering for a bit (even a rubber mounted suspension mount on a 60 year old commercial vehicle - with a 1-1/2 inch socket that took a couple of minutes plus some penetrating oil).
FunkiestMonkey02/07/2020 08:14

Can You set the torque?

Yes....three settings, the lowest would undo most car wheel nuts,if not put it up one setting...I always refit on setting 1 and check with a torque wrench and it's always been spot on.
Edited by: "BattleBeast1" 2nd Jul
The pin that holds the socket on dropped out of mine within a few weeks.
Having said that. Apart from that its top notch

It will break regardless anyway. Go with the hog ring version if it's the same in ithr aspects

No there is no rubber. It's the bolt that is in the middle of the wheel. It is a massive bolt once you take it out... it is 200nm+ 180° this is not possible with just one breaker bar you need a long extension to finish it off. You just pray that the set up wont brake before you are done...

Definitely. Possible overkill
Nice find @JB_Englishman thanks for taking the time to share. Not really knowledgeable on these types of products but seems popular with members.
I have the pin detent version of this and as it's a tapered pin you can pull the sockets off easily by hand so not really an issue. Got to agree it's a bolt snapper (as well as a wrist snapper if you're not careful!!) Awesome kit
FunkiestMonkey02/07/2020 08:14

Can You set the torque?

You've got 3 levels to choose from so you could use the lowest and then use a torque wrench to get it right but when I'm doing them up I use a torque stick to stop me from over tightening them.
It has now hone back to £174 sorry if you missed it

Still on at £139 if you don't mind waiting 2 or 3 weeks.

Stating the obvious........the power it has, in the wrong hands and wrong setting.

Just to give some perspective 950Nm likely doesn't mean much to some reading these deals and 2400 impacts a minute or 1625Nm breakaway torque. The promotional picture show a truck wheel nut as a working example.
I have done some quick calculations, in simple terms then, it can undo a large bolt with the equivalent force of putting a socket and 1 metre long breaker bar on the nut, and a severely obese adult male, standing on and off the bar 2400 times a minute. He is going to be a bit out of breath, but most bolts will move or shear off.
Use impact rated sockets (usually black coloured) wear safety eyewear. Ordinary sockets can shatter.
