I am voting neither hot nor cold.

Does anyone know know if D&G or another known brand manufacturer make the watch, or is it just mass-produced rubbish from a Far-East sweat shop?

Since when did D&G become a premium (rrp 225) watch brand?

u joking right, since when has dolce and gabana made cheap watches?:whistling:

D&G watches are in the designer range of pricing, mainly between £100 and £300. I would say that at RRP you are paying half the money for the name / styling. You will get a decent watch in it, but it is by no means the same as a true premium watch such as Tag, Rolex, etc. Then again they aren't near £1000, even at RRP.

At half price or less then you should be getting half decent value for money.

I think someone would buy this for the 'look', style and the name, rather than the performance, no? It's a fashion watch. I expect someone at D&G had a hand in the design as far as the image goes.

Having said that, it's a reasonably good-looking timepiece. As long as it keeps time, can be read in the dark, is of sturdy construction and resists water pressure as it says, then it should be worth it?

2 of my own watches are by Diesel and DKNY.

Neither are premium watch brands or watchmakers with a respected history, but they work, the materials are decent quality and they look good.

I'd have to agree, and for the price it's a good enough looking watch. I'm also certain that they make decent quality products, so for the price you really can't complain.

I'd have to go neutral on this. Without the name you're seriously looking at around £30-£50 worth. I mean, you can pick up a Seiko for less than £90 and there you have something designed and made by someone with a bit of pedigree rather than a reasonably well designed watch farmed off to the low labour rate markets elsewhere in the far east for assembly.
At some point these 'new' factories will reach decent standards of production but tbh they're not there yet as I can attest through the acquisition of two such items in the past year.
Heck, a random check reveals that you can buy a swiss quartz ladies watch (Maurice Lacroix) for less then £90 at Argos - now that's a good deal.

It's a decent deal for anyone into this sort of thing, but I don't know how I'd handle it psychologically to be reminded that my time is now "D&G Time" whenever I looked at the watch (and boy does it remind you of this!).

Time! Sponsored by D&G.

To all those who were talking ish, check if you can get cheaper somewhere else. Well done to those that secured one.

Very, very hot deal!!

I paid £195 (equiv in Euros) for this same watch 5 months ago in Paris.

It is a quality watch and of course you are paying for the name - that's sort of the point!
The watch is quite heavy and it has a very interesting strap mechanism. It's an outstanding buy for £88!

Why are people getting all snotty over a watch being worth over £200? Jealousy?
If you want a sieko then buy one, if you want a D&G then buy one. As for the debate on choosing a name over performance......well the primary function of any watch is to tell the time and you'll never guess what - This watch is very good at doing so.....

I'm not sure if the watch will be manufactured by D & G, I know a lot of companies like these use Fossil to manufacture their watches, so the quality will be good.
