Well, I decided to grit my teeth and post the deal... if only for a little rant.
I present to you Diablo 3, possibly at its lowest post-release price so far.

Brilliant news! Now you can own one of PC gaming's biggest letdowns.
Prior to release I would have been burnt at the stake for heresy against gaming. Now the hype has settled down, all my predictions have reigned true. The overrated nonsense that people simply could not see, or refused to believe. Yours for just £24.99.

Still feverish with excitement?

Great price...... shame about the game

I haven't stopped crying

Couldn't agree more. I paid full price for this and was seriously disappointed. Don't think it's even worth 25 quid in my opinion... Having said that, if you're still desperate to try one of the most overated pieces of software of all time, this is a good price

A guy at work was telling me about this game yesterday and I'll be building my new PC this weekend but I don't think that I need blizzard in my life tbh.

I love it , each to their own I guess, mind you I haven't played it to death , no time really, but still loving it in 3D, could have been a bit longer, but that is what the console world has brought us with the advent of DLC !

not a patch on diablo 2. diablo 3 very big let down, gutted!!

Did you really post this deal just so you could say you were hating it before it was cool?

We've got hipsters posting deals now

nice price..but the game is utterly disappointing.

I think you'll find that there will be a lot patches.

Not worth a penny more. Fun game for about 40-60 hrs.

console bought us DLCs? Addons will come aplenty for this eventually but aye not got alot of replayability

I agree. I did finish the game, but it just wasn't Diablo. I've had Diablo 2 installed almost permanently since I got it, and still play it on occasion. I bought Diablo 3, played it, made myself finish it, and have already uninstalled it, as I know I won't play it again. Pretty gutted, as I was really looking forward to it. No matter, as Torchlight 2 is out soon.

Glad I didn't but this then but still hot price. Shops are still trying to get away with selling it for £40!

such a good game!
you can actually get your money back by playing it!
I've sold 30 quid of equipments in the RMAH!

For which Blizzard takes a large slice of the money. I would never touch the RMAH with a bargepole. Blizzard have already made a huge profit on this game - to make a profit on the auction house is pure greed. Especially as, of course, Blizzard control the drop/spawn rate of everything in the game...

Plus, if it's successful, which it appears to have been, many other companies will start introducing similar 'features'. This is the start of not 'pay to play' but 'pay to get anywhere in the game unless you have 12 hours a day spare to grind for items'...

Diablo 2 reigns supreme.

What level your items have to be to reach that amount? And how many of them have you sold?

Come on now, it's Activision, what did you expect?

not worth that price

To the people saying it is not even worth £24.99, what are you smoking?

The game is a lot of fun in coop mode, that is where it comes to life. Playing with friends. There is easily a 100 hours or so gameplay if you play through a couple of classes. There is a lot of fun to be had.

Anyone saying they are disappointed? What did you expect at release? No game is perfect, but after a year or two hopefully we'll see new content, proper endgame and PvP.

Like I said, if you are after playing a game with a friend, which is fun you could choose far worse.

its a good game, well worth £24.99

I think the large majority of people were expecting Diablo 2, with a largely similar set of mechanics, but with updated graphics.

It's a decent game and for that price it's worth it, thanks OP, heat added.

Totally Agree.

The problem with D3 is that it is advertised since 2-3 years ( or even more ? ) the long waiting gave ppl expetations beyond reality I guess.
if this game would came ou of the blue it would blow people`s minds, but that is not the case.
Everyone expected game of the year and so on, and so on, but this will not be it, D2 was that with its amazing new features / graphics and game mechanisms.

I guess the general expectation for this game was to be such an improvement as D2 was compared to D1, but the truth is that IT just did not improve that much, so it is kinda hard to do so.

The original diablo 2 developers left the company some years back so the original heart and soul of the game has gone, check out their game torchlight 2 due out in month or so, only £14.99 on steam and you get free copy of torchlight 1 to try

Yup, enjoy this game greatly...

One of my friends blitzed it and spent so much time on it in the first month, he now no longer plays.

I didn't hit it quite so hard and am still enjoying it after 100+ hours spend on just two classes.

Certainly won't buy anything from the RMAH but when I'm finished with the game, I might sell all my stuff and make a profit from the game.

Except nobody buys anything in the UK RMAH. Americans have got it made, i've seen threads where people have screencapped their auction list and have MULTIPLE items that have sold for $250. The first week was insane, people have made thousands. But in the UK we are not as stupid and we do not want to spend £250 of our hard-earned on some imaginary item that is going to be completely worthless in 2 weeks.

The problem with D3 is that the open beta only tested the first 13 levels. They should have had a much larger closed one where you started off at 60 to beta test the endgame. Then they should have renamed it Auction House Tycoon and be done with it.

However I will say this. I got ~120 hours out of this game before I got completely disillusioned by it. That's pretty good for £25. (I paid £30, which is still okay.) Plus, with 1.04 on the horizon there might still be some left in it. Good deal.

Can't customise characters, can't allocate stat points, all class abilities just about the same, loot terrible, epic loot even more terrible, storyline appalling, voice acting worse. Economy broken and exploited early on, no gold sinks, constant un controlled inflation, worthless crafting.

And yes I have completed this on inferno with a barb, more fool me. A terrible effort from blizzard but at least I still have sc2.

People complaining about the game are expecting to be able to play it til the end of time. I've played for 120+ hours and paid 32 quid. That's extremely good value for money if you ask me, so it's well worth it regardless of what people say. Not to mention Blizzard are working at bringing out new patches and making the game better. The next 1.0.4 patch should at least tackle some of the big issues.

Diablo 2 wasn't "the greatest game ever" as soon as it came out. It took time, patches, and the expansion Lord of Destruction before it became what it's remembered for. I'm hoping the same happens with this game so it's worth the investment in my opinion

i've been farming act3 and sold quite a few 63 level items at about 5-6quid.

i'd say you should save your money and not buy this

probably spent over 40 hrs in this game. Started farming Act 1 and 2 on inferno, got bored and not touched it for a few months now. Game is good for the first few runs but then just gets boring

Or buy Torchlight 2 due out in the next month or two for £15 and get torchlight 1 free... made by the original Diablo 1 & 2 team

Yes much the same opinion, once ya done the hardest playthrough there's really no need to ever play it again, thankfully I only paid £20 for mine at release, they should have added a new extra act for each difficulty level to make it worth the effort

I made about 60 quid but that was because I sold them quite early, if I took advantage of first few days RMAH was out I would have made hundreds.
The game itself is nothing epic, the time you will spend playing it is worth 25 quid but don't expect another legendary game you'll stick with for years.

Oh and make sure that you try torchlight 1 before you buy the sequel and that you actually like it, I wasnt so excited about it.

£29.99 now.

TBH i think a 87.60% from an average vote from 172 reviews is great, especially considering all the hype. The game packs at least 100hours, and tbh, i would rather see the option pay to play with the majority of the money going back in peoples pockets then a monthly subscription.

as long as blizzard only take a cut of the money the market will always have a good balance between work and price, its when companies make the items and sell them (no farming from anyone) that economy gets screwed over.

Not saying i love this game, got pretty booring after i finnished inferno with one char but its the most hours ive gotten out of a game thats free to play since... a long time.so HEAT HEAT HEAT

It's because those in the UK who are not stupid buy and sell on EU RMAH.
