The best use for this is probably to have one with a few bits of paper in and a £5 watch and put it in an obvious cupboard. Then, if you do get broken into they'll find this, shake it and think it sounds interesting and leave before finding your actual valuables.

Why do these never say fireproof?
Are they not, or is it obvious?

Ideal for keeping your £18.48 in...

Most thieves use metal detectors nowadays to look for jewelry so this would not be a good choice for valuable

Yes!But not potato proof

exactly what I thought when I saw the pic

Apparently people on Amazon UK buy a Safe and some Heinz beans with some tomato soup, Are they rationing for the apocalypse?

They're safe cans, the bottoms unscrew to hide your valuables in, and are about as effective as hiding your money under your mattress.

They are not fireproof, water, or even smoke resistant.

Firesafes have seals on the door and are lined with insulation, they're not designed to be burglar proof though as you can see in the video below (but then neither is a solenoid safe).

As safes are made of metal a metal detector isn't going to tell them what's inside

I've got one bolted into a bedroom cupboard at home. I'm well aware a skilled burglar could crack it open in no time, but I find it handy to keep stuff like passports etc in, and by the time anyone has fiddled about up there, I'd have landed a few digs with a baseball bat.
