This is why we have landfills, people really sell this tat and people really buy it. Where else is it gonna end up in a week or 2?
Cold and a naff purchase/deal.

Remember the 'C's' when buying your diamond: Carat, Colour, Colusion and Clarity.

You might want to bring an expert with you to examine the stone instore before you hand over any money- you don't want to be paying a quid for a stone that may only be woth 50p. You can never be too careful these days.

Using that reasoning 90% of the stuff in the shops shouldn't exist as there not needed. Bit of fun for a women to ask a man's hand in marriage under the tradition of a leap year.

Posted something like this last week on some cheap tat and it didn't go down well, I think we need to think before buying something we know that will end up in land fill in a few days time.

I couldn’t find these last year. I just wanted to see how they are but no luck. I went to two Poundlands but no rings in sight.

Yeah, but at least the real diamond mines create a big enough hole to fill up!
To be fair, if it comes in one of those presentation boxes, totally worth it just for that.

I agree... This is much worse than having kids in 3rd world countries mining real diamonds for us to overpay to look at.
Must stock up! Thanx Op

Indeed and when the politicians wake up and Sing from a consistent hymn sheet re. Climate change, stopping the production of @% we don't need would be a really good start to reducing co2 emissions

That's true... bought a gold ring from there...

Costs me £5000 a year to store it in the bank vault

Got me again Poundland... Got me again!!

Doesn't quite work like that.

I have made deliveries to a lot of active and inactive landfills, it's no joke the amount of crap we throw away. We need to change our buying habits and stop being so wasteful, soz, sermon over.
Btw, I am fun at parties, I just don't get invited to any, lol.
I’d be too embarrassed to buy one let alone give it to a woman.

Good for handing out on a Saturday night down the clubs as a convincer, having already splashed out on the second bottle of Prosecco.
Better than a faux engagement diamond ring.

I don’t know, things for £1 in Poundland seem to be getting rarer. Our local has seems to have more £2/£5/£10 items than £1 lately!
This is the Outlet Shop for Goldsmiths And Several of them were for found in the Hatton Vaults Robbery so must have some value
Couldn't be colder. Embarrassing.

You do realise this is HotUKDeals? My comment was an off-the-cuff remark in keeping with the humour of this site.
hotukdeals is a community for deal seekers. Find and share the best deals, promotional codes and vouchers from on and off the web. Not a forum in depth environmental impact discussions?

Yes I know what this site is, I've been a member for 14 years. 🤫🤫
What better place to talk about the impact to the environment of the tat that we buy, that will very shortly, end up in a landfill. There's no point in closing your eyes and hope the problem goes away or leave it to someone else to deal with.
Thanks
For anyone who can’t afford a real diamond and wants to show someone they love that they hope to have a real one for them in the future, there’s nothing wrong with this.

You think a bit of tat worth a quid will show someone you love them and are going to be able to afford a 'proper' ring one day, lol.
That's so funny

Good idea as the girl could say no, then no money lost

If she says yes, then it is an IOU for a real diamond ring that she can choose herself. I chose my own rings

90% stuff (but more realistically 75%) in the shops is indeed not needed and contributes to the mess we made our planet into. Just a counter point.
