Excellent stuff. Cheers.

I work as a trainer and use a Swissgear laptop bag very similar to this. I use it daily, overload it, zipping and unzipping, travel around Uk and also flying different countries. My Swissgear bag has lasted a good 3 years and still looks very great condition. Bought mine from WH Smiths for 24.99 half price. This Dell offer looks very much like a rebadged Swissgear. Not the same as the model I have which is ideal for me but nevertheless looks like it has many characteristics the same in which case has to be recommended.

(Incidentally many fake Swissgear models sell abroad in the copy shops of Middle East etc. Some look quite good but not so good as the original if you compare side by side)

Great find - really tempted. However, does anyone know which model this actually is? Looking at the Dicota website, the photo appears to be from the Dicota Mission bacpac XL (which is for 17" computers rather than 15" ones).
Here are the pages:
15.4" Mission bacpac: dicota.com/sta…349
17" Mission XL bacpac: dicota.com/sta…240

I would prefer the 15.4" for my shiny new xps m1530, so if anyone could enlighten me that would be great! INcidentally, niether backpack can be purchased anywhere else for lesss than £40!

I bought this one recently

7dayshop.com/cat…964 postage is £3.95 and if you go to the Trust website it says that that model is for laptops up to 15.4

I bought a Swissgear laptop bag earlier in the year advertised on this very website it does look the business:thumbsup: I haven’t used it yet as I’m still trying to wear out my current Targus bag:-D

Cheers for this, ordered this and the logitech notebook mouse that was posted for 28 quid, not bad at all. Cheers

I have just received mine, and it is is definitely the 15.4" size, my XPS 1530 fits in perfectly (with or without the dell slip case that it came with)

Great - thanks for that info, repped.I'm going to get one too! What is your general impression of the bag? Does it offer enough protection and does it look good in the flesh?

Thanks!

I am personally very happy with the bag, I was expecting it to be bigger than it is, but its justabout right for what I need. theres not a great deal of space in the main pocket, (but enough for 1 (possibly 2 thin) A4 folders - I will test this theory tomorrow if I get a chance). The mp3 pocket is as you'd expect and the front pocket will easily hold the AC lead and a mouse etc..

It looks very well made, and just as good as the photo if not better (I like the look, but I guess that's just my opinion) It comes in a large box, I dont think it could be squashed into a smaller box or any smallr packaging because its so tough and rigid.

The laptop is held by an elastic to a flat protective board (kind of feels like cardboard covered in thin but dense foam) which is between that pocket and the main pocket (it holds it in place very securely, but I think I will find myself putting it into the pocket in a rush and not utilising the elastic), and the other side is protected by a similar dense foam but without the board, as well as a lot of comfy thick padding which is against your back. The floor of the pocket also has a thicker layer of the dense foam.

The laptop pocket is thicker that it needs to be (I guess the XPS 1530 is thin!), but I intend to use the Dell slip case as well, and it therefore fills more of the pocket, Event hen there is still room to fit an A4 writing pad or two in there) but if the elastic is used I dont think this affects the protection as the laptop will not move around in there)

Right, I think I've bored anyone who reads this by now, so I will stop... hope it has helped though...

Fantastic - thanks for that review! There are so few reviews for this backpack - it would be great if you could post that as a review on Dell as I spent hours looking for a review and all I found was a German review which didn't say much, and a Czech review which didn't translate properly in any language tool so I couldn't read it...
Will leave more rep when I can - the forum requires that I spread some rep around first before I can rep you again
I am a little concerned by the size of the bag, as I fear it may be a little small for my needs... will probably get it anyway and then get something bigger at some stage too.

Thanks for the post and review
