Amazing price for a 4k tv, you can barely even get 1080p for this price. But honestly who knows if this is any good? It has a few reviews and no videos of people testing it on YouTube so it will be difficult to make a decision.

It tends to be luck of the draw with these nomark tv's I got my son a Vestel Made Toshiba 40" a few years ago
i got lucky you can see the sticker on the panel through the vents and its a Samsung S-PVA

but its a case of who's the cheapest on the day yours was made could be a lg,chungwah,AUO,ChiMei,samsung etc..

also depends what you are using it on if you not using the onboard scaler e.g using it at native resolution
after calibrating the colours there's very little difference to a Samsung if you luck out and get a decent brand panel

You can also check the service menu the Samsung Panel is LT400HA07
in the service menu is this Pcf :40_SAM_HA07_169FHD__F_N_NO_T_NOST_V42_35

£20 cheaper here so even at this price its cold from me:

ebay.co.uk/itm…mih

Just noticed the one I linked doesn't include postage, but guessing it would still cost less than £20 to deliver??

Having dealt with digihome customer service Id say good luck.

even if you have to pay for delivery they will only deliver within local area.

There is not really a discernable difference between HD and 4k on a screen this small. HDR is where you notice the difference and this set doesn't have it.

Depends how close you are sitting.

That's crazy cheap.. On a budget, that's an amazing deal..

And as you got in and posted before steevieboy did, I'd still say it's heat. Thanks for the post op

Fantastic price kid

Exactly, and 40" is not small. For a bedroom TV a few ft from your feet this would be ideal. I'd be all over it if Sky Q was 4K on the secondary boxes too, but sadly it's not.

Apropos of nothing, we had a cheap digihome HD TV we inherited from a mate about 5 yrs ago and it was fine until it was cascaded down into not being required due to newer tech being acquired. It did kick out a fair bit of heat from the screen but it was reliable and did what it was supposed to, picture was fine (no humming, dead pixels, bright/dark patches, or backlight glow) so I wouldn't completely disregard this as an option if you have a 4K source and nothing to display it.

I'd not bother if you don't though- I find 4K upscaling is bad enough from a HD source, SD stuff is unwatchable on a 4K display.

Either way this is cheap as chips, so heat from me.

says HDR in the description and product specs, is this correct?

This is perfect for the spare room /den. Have ordered, cheers op.

Bought a 1080p digihome a few years ago. Software is crap and slow. However it is used 10+ hours a day for TV/PC/Console gaming and has worked a treat.

No, but thanks for asking.

Hot-vote from me.

I have a mid range panasonic and I notice little difference between them although I stand corrected it apparently has hdr

Banned

That is how they get the screen resolution to be so good.

Good deal, heated.

Can anybody comment on using this as a computer monitor? On some YouTube videos they say a 40inch 2160p screen is great, but ideally needs to be 60Hz and have HDMI 2.0 ports. Not sure if this meets that spec as the specification listed is too sparse.

I read there is a setting to change to enhanced mode which is HDR on this TV. Is this correct?

Received mine today and it does not have HDR (even with the input setting changed from standard to enhanced).

Updated TV, changed HDMI inputs to enhanced mode. TV does not have HDR.

When you say updated, did yours find and install a newer firmware? When I tried that it said it was up-to-date with a firmware date of (I think ) October 2016.

Yeah, first thing i did after initial setup was connect to Wifi and download a software update which was the 2016 one. It's strange actually, the listing on the co-op electrical site, electrical.coop.co.uk/tv-…bk/ states that this model does not have HDR so have reached out to them on eBay for more info, and see if i'm missing something.

Can also confirm no HDR, Ive contacted them and been offered a partial refund instead of sending it back

How did you contact them mate? Have tried eBay and emailing them. nothing yet

I raised a return via eBay and they responded the next morning to say pickup arranged and they would refund me once received (minus £10 for shipping). I queried why I had to pay shipping for their error and they replied to say it was not advertised as HDR so I have sent them a screenshot showing both references to it.

How much discount did they offer you?
