It's a surprisingly good screen - I have a lg and side by side it's very close. Given its a vestel clone I'm hoping some shared firmware (apps?) would work
If you are quick there is limited stock left on the Tesco site for £259 with the code.

Wait for the next generation after that which will do 16k

it is a reality and they are already broadcasting http://www.pcworld.com/article/3102875/consumer-electronics/japan-starts-8k-tv-broadcasts-in-time-for-rio-olympics.html
the most recent GPU's are already able to take care of an 8k screen already
Japanese used to broadcast 4k very long time ago already, expect 16k soon

We may well be getting 8K screens soon and I have no doubt that there will be enough people that will buy into it and pay out the money for them.

But we don't even have HD as a fully mainstream delivery method, let alone 4K, so it will be a very long time before we see enough content for 8K.

Add to that the additional bandwidth required and the question of whether our infrastructure can support the data needs.
Japan sold Sharp 8k tv from last summer: not sure about terrestrial but 8k certainly exists now
