Classic Vestel TV.

Does that mean don't bother? I will only be using this for Chromecast, PS4 and HTPC over HDMI (will probably never use the Smart TV functions)

Is there a way you are getting notified when they come back into stock?
Just keep checking every morning! There were definitely 49s and 50s in stock today because I took me to the payment page
Got one last night thank you for the tip
Excellent Back in stock again this morning (50" smart TV and 42" smart TV). Bought a 50" to compare with the 49"...will keep the one with the best picture although I suspect they'll be very similar.

Awesome! How do you think the 50 inch will handle sports and games with 50hz?

or is this tv 60hz ? or is this tv 60hz ? https://docs.google.com/viewerng/viewer?url=https://ttselectrical.custhelp.com/ci/fattach/get/410669/1434033682/redirect/1/filename/50%20Smart%20IB.pdf

Well that might make things a little more interesting, thanks for posting!
I have a 40inch digihome I bought for a similar price a couple of years back and the picture is amazing with deep blacks and even colours (no dirty screen effect in football etc). That one was not edge lit like this one, though, but backlit so should have a better picture. I'll let you know the difference when I get this one tomorrow.

Note there is a 48inch digihome 4KUltraHD for under £300 now in another thread (has HDCP 2.2).

I like the look of the 4k but the stand has the legs at either side so would not fit on my tv stand, first world problems ahy!

Look forward to your findings

Aah, I see it didn't take long for the vestel patrol to come out...
Ordered last night, heat added
I now have this 50incher. Also have a 40 inch non-smart Digihome before which has a great picture. Despite this one being edgelit it seems identical in picture quality to the backlit one. In fact it might be a bit brighter. The sound is fine too but I noticed it depends on what's behind the TV...needs something to bounce off to have any bass.

The picture can't seem to be adjusted in Netflix but can on youtube and the other ones. The smartTV browser is okay but the mouse movement sometimes gets really slow and I'm not sure if a keyboard or mouse can be used instead of the remote.

Hi do you notice if you stand right in front of the tv maybe 30cm away everything looks pixelated?

p.s you can use a Bluetooth mouse using the usb slot i tried last night
Quick update: I received this telly but ended up returning it after bagging a 48" Samsung for £249.99.

Pros:

* HD channels look really, really sharp
* Remote control is a nice size and has decent buttons - hooray!
* Size - 50" is noticeably bigger than the 48" TV we kept instead
* Football seemed pretty smooth (I guess this is helped by the 60hz refresh rate)
* Smart features are pretty decent - iPlayer etc. work very well

Cons

* Build quality is not great - the bezel on one size wasn't clipped in properly, so when screwed together popped out a bit. Didn't bother me particularly at this price point, but others may not agree.
* Very occasionally had an issue with getting a black screen and green line across it when in TV mode - needed to switch to an HDMI channel and then back to resolve. Wasn't a major issue given that I tend to use a Youview box.
* Sound is very tinny - AVL mode improved things, but played next to the Samsung the Digihome was obviously weaker.
* I really struggled to get the colours right. Whilst there is plenty of customisation available, the browns were often too muddy and the greens too luminous if I tried to up the vibrancy of the colours.
* Viewing angles are really quite limited. Just moving slightly away from the centre of the telly mutes the colours and the screen darkens considerably when walking across the room
* The screen mirroring function stopped working after the first few days. Windows 10 picked it up but couldn't stream to it. Android couldn't pick it up at all.
* Wireless dropped out frequently when using smart features

At the end of the day, it's a massive telly for just £220.00. I probably would have kept it if the Sammie hadn't have popped up, but I was never 100% convinced by it, which is understandable given the price point. As a second telly, would have been great.
How big are these at the back?
