My doorbell packed in a few days ago and was looking for a replacement on ebay. Found similar ones to this and they were £100+ no doubt they had more functions etc. but this is a steal if all you want is a doorbell that allows you to see who's pressing the bell. It also has a small sd card built in which saves the mugshot of everybody who pressed the bell. Great if you have pesky kids who pay press and run! The card saves up to 1000 pictures. It only took me 10 minutes to fit as I already have a peep hole fitted to my door and this just fitted in its place. Was £24.99 now down to £19.99 I believe this is a national deal.

or it may be handy for oaps who have trouble squinting through a tiny peephole...just a thought.
Thanks OP - don't be put off by trolls on here !
Just read through the comments and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you !
That's a brilliant solution to a problem that doesn't exist. I've never needed to answer the door when I'm not actually there.
So you answer the door and a delivery driver says hi can you sign for this, and you say er no I'm not here. Very useful.
Might be useful to annoy TV licence people or Jehovah's witnesses, I'd get bored quickly though.
I don't think you can talk through it, the good thing is you can see who's at your door from indoors.
batteries, there's a description on the thread
There are many con artists operating and this gives visual proof if you needed evidence or to show to the police afterwards. I bought it because I thought it benefited my wife to see who was at the door before she decided whether to open it or not (looking through the peephole is not good and I have perfect eyesight !)
Just to answer a few questions - it is simple to fit but if you don't have a peep hole then you need to drill a hole through your door (thank god I didn't have to as we have a steel security door !)
The whole process is simple in that you place the bell (double sided tape provided) on the outside and feed the ribbon through the hole. You connect the ribbon to the main unit which sits over the hole (on top of a mounting plate again stuck on by tape). The unit uses 2 x AA batteries (supplied) and I'm guessing the bell gets fed through the unit as there are no other batteries. All in all, 10 minutes to fit. It works great during the day but not tried at night and guess would need a light source as it doesn't have infra red (no problem for me as I have an auto night light 20cm next to the dorrbell). £20 for this is a brilliant price - I THINK. If anybody else thinks so too then great but if you don't see the point/don't like the colour/hate my post because it's Friday or whatever then get a life and move on ... !
Succinctly and aptly pointed out...NOTHING MORE TO ADD
Thanks for the reminder, nobody need ring the bell, you can switch the monitor on and see who's at the door before they've even pressed the bell. You can also take their picture too, though this is automatic once they've pressed the bell. Greät irony though and in keeping with your username!

pretty please?
Great spot so it was £39.99 originally and now ony £19.99 WOW even more of a bargain - because it's advertised as that online then it has to be National - good luck for those who want one. Oh one last thing, it's covered by a 3 year warranty (my last doorbell cost this much and lasted just 12 months)
??? doesn't mention length of cable on website ? My door is about an inch thick and I had to fold the ribbon twice to tuck away so would say length of ribbon cable is about 2.5" - 3" long.
This was my first thought too, I wouldn't want something that costs £160 on the door that you could quickly unscrew off. I'm sure they won't last long.
Says LED for night viewing in description.
Great - well spotted but unable to vouch for how good it works at night as nobody called round last night ! Works great in the daytime though ! Billy bonus if it works in the dark !
At least you'll have a picture of who nicked it lol ! It's like the ip connected cameras where you can see the thieving scum ransack your house and see how they turn over a house in a matter of minutes! Hopefully it will be like this one whereby the doorbell is screwed via a brass tube to the montitor on the other side of the door, the only way to steal it would be to prise it off the door thus damaging it. You can't legislate for everything ...
You're most welcome
Trust me the ribbon is too long ! I ended up having to fold it twice to stay in the hole so that I can place the monitor over it ! The picture is misleading as it doesn't actually show the ribbon once setup. There is no harm in buying it first and if it doesn't look like it would fit (i.e. you have a 4" thick door) you can always take back for a refund ? Gosh sounds like I am on commision or something !
I have absolutely no idea what the reviewer was talking about and only gave it one star - I'm guessing he couldn't follow simple instructions !
