I bought one of these last time they did them.
It works really well, the buttons are a bit hard to press though.
Both me and my daughter have this make and have had it for 18months now. I use mine virtually everyday and my daughter at Uni uses hers everyday. Cooks a great chicken in it.

I mocked my wife for buying one for camping and now I love it and we use it all the time at home.

Heard you have to be careful not to touch the new bulb when you eventually need to replace it as they blow if you get finger grease on them.
3 years warranty, fails after 1 year, you have to post it back to Sunderland at a cost of 8 quid, then you hear nothing
Aldi warranty best avoided
will never buy electrical goods from Aldi again
out of pocket by 30 quid plus another 8 quid and they don't even respond to your emails when you query what's going on, very shoddy service
Ended up giving my Oven away since buying a Halogen oven. Best invention ever, just hope the radiation doesn't riddle us all with cancer in a few years time along with the radiation from Microwaves.

I think I may buy one soon, but Amazon or Argos only for me with Electricals.

What a stupid comment.

The radiation obviously cancels each other out.

Must just slip right into your backpack... right beside the 2kW generator you have to bring along to power it.

Unless you know the facts 100% on how these or Microwaves fully work then please do not post idiotic replies to my posts. You are only making yourself look the stupid one, not me!!

Normally Aldi just let you take the items back to the shop provided you have a receipt, I've done that before without any hassle.
This oven works like a conventional oven but uses infra red heat that is generated by a halogen lamp. The heat is distributed by a fan around the food. Because the heat source is at the top it works like a grill so you will have to turn the food to get it evenly cooked. If you do not turn it the surface will get burned but inside remain uncooked. Positives include less energy usage and easier to clean. For me nothing beats a conventional oven for cooking food.

you don't have to turn food over,
its a convection oven.
The most important thing to do is lower the temperature when cooking.

Convection essentially means that heat is transferred though the air-it all depends on how well hot air is circulated
and how much heat it loses as it travels away from the source. You will get a gradient built up whereby temperature close to the element will be higher than further away so the need to turn the food.
I have been using Halogen ovens for about seven years. A couple of pointers if I may.
With the non digital type after the cooking cycle has finished, be sure to leave the handle in the upright position. Reason being the handle engages the on button in the on position ( as when cooking ) and the residual heat can cause the components to meld which causes the cooker to malfunction, ( this happened twice until I realised what the prob was ). This doesn't happen in the digital type because the handle has to be lifted to lift the lid. It has a button to engage .
I have two Halogen ovens, one digital in use and the other is a non digital which is brand new and sitting in its box unused and is a warranty renewal. We bought the non digital type from Amazon which failed under warranty and which because of the length of time to return it to Amazon and then waiting for the return we went to Argos.
Point of this is: Argos replaces immediately. Amazon takes up to three weeks.

I use mine everyday and it's still going after 13 years a lot cheaper to run than a big oven xx
I have had 2 of these halogen ovens for around 4 years now and use them nearly every day.Although they are not good for baking, they are great for almost everything else and are incredibly easy to clean.Without a doubt, the best value for money small kitchen appliance i have ever bought.
My Aldi one has just died after 2.5yrs. It's been used almost every day in that time. I haven't bothered with a repair under the warranty as I figured I'd had my money's worth out of it in that time and I wanted a new one with a hinged lid this time and I found an Andrew James version on Rakuten on an offer day that fitted the bill.

I originally thought it would be one of those gadgets I'd use a few times then it would collect dust but it's been much more useful than I gave it credit for. Wouldn't be without one now.

Ooooh, you won't fit in around here Sir/Madam, this site is ALL about getting a 5 year warranty on sub £100 items, and getting John Lewis to price match underpants. Shame on you!

Nope. I use a 17L Halogen and cook my chicken(love 'em) on full power. Present them upside down in Halogen for 40mins - keep an eye on them though then go breast up(mmmmm - dream on) for 20 mins. Perfect.

CLOWN!

Uneducated FOOL!!
Cheaper on Amazon if you use the link posted at the beginning of the comments!!
I typically kill the bearings on these, but with the warranty you cant really go wrong, just avoid creating condensation inside, e.g. after you have cooked your stuff just take the top off (i am on my 4th halogen oven)
AVOID... Me and my friend bought these from different stores. My friends bulb broke all over the food the 2nd time it was used. I used mine approx 8 times and the lid has has started to melt from the inside!
Bought one of these 2 weeks ago, today it sparked out and bits of metal fell and ash out. Used only 3 times too. Aldi collecting Monday.
Aldi have issued a recall notice on these ovens, they must not be used, must be unplugged immediately, and returned to the store for a full refund.

I've had one for 2 years, use it every day. I got mine from Ideal World, it has a hinged lid which makes it much easier/safer to use.
They are doing one for half price at the moment. It's dearer but think it's worth it for the hinged lid.
