Whats the point exactly?

When you setting up an Areal externally on teh roof, you can pin point the best angle for the strongest signal. Instead of running up and down the ladder 20 times to look at the TV picture.

Ah, ok

good price!

May be a good price but not sure about value for money, how often are you going to need one of these oO

Once is enough to save all that effort.

LOL

Personally didn't bother with one - just got another person to monitor the decoder box's signal strengths on the TV (using DECT phones in intercom mode). However I did use the website that made it really easy to spot relative to neighbouring properties where to aim. Been 90%+ ever since

From experience these are not very good, used one to set up my sisters Aerial, 3 indicator lights would illuminate, no mater which way i faced the aerial.:(, maybe the one i had was faulty), you can always try it and take it back as you have 30days.

£8.50 on e bay but not a bad price if you need one today.

just ordered one for pickup.

excluded from 30 day return !!!!

I'm confused, looks like this is for aligning a dish not an aerial.ie freesat not freeview.

Crikey - yes you are right - it has DVB-T logo on it ie digital TERRESTIAL, and NOT satellite.
That said it has the F screw connectors typical of satellite installations. Not sure quite why you'd need one for a Terrrestial aerial as surely the aerial is either horizontal or vertical and THEN pointed at the correct compass point = solved in 99.x% of cases.
And unlike the analogue days, the DVB-T tuner is going to have a signal strength & quality indicator to do the fine tuning job for you!

Good point! You can see other antennas in the area for pointing. For the signal strength it is not much use since there are other factors such as your receiver sensitivity, cable loss etc. I would put this 10 quid towards a better antenna or receiver...
