This just makes me want a VR HD version of Jungle Strike.
I've got Oculus Rift myself so couldn't comment on Vive but I can say the DCS VR experience is incredible. An older Youtube video gives the Vive a great review and things can only have gotten better since then.
I bought the Huey and the Black Shark - the amount of detail and work that must have gone into them make it good value IMO.
Tempted by the Gazelle. At just over £25 it seems a good deal.
What would you recommend for HTC Vive VR?
I like Black Shark 2 because it's a single seat 'copter so you get to both pilot and shoot. It ruined all the fun when sims reached sufficient detail level to separate those two roles when simulating the Apache. :D
same here :) I even bought HOTAS but I can't find enough time to invest therefore usually I'm ending up with other games which don't have such steep learning curves and are better for 30min sessions. Still DCS is a great SIM :)
Every sale they have I buy one or two planes...then fly about for 30min , realize I'm hopeless and need to really invest a week to learn the instruments for each single plane. I give up and then repeat the process each sale lol.
Which ones would you recommend for a beginner ?
Tom Cruise pretending to be you!
Thanks OP :) PICKED up FC3 , Sabre and the Dora ..
Ahhh sitting listening too the Top Gun theme downloading as we speak, nothing like a 5 foot fat bald man wearing sun glasses pretending to be tom cruise.
This is back on with even better prices, $17.49 for the Mig 21!! Bargain... http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/mig21bis/
Steam sale is on now, up to 70% off for you ;) http://store.steampowered.com/app/223750/
Yeah, you do get what you pay for sometimes. I have trackIR 5 myself. Can't fly without it now.
I had exactly the same problem, I feel your pain. Here's how I solved it......bought TrackIR5. I know thats not much help but I'd had enough messing around with FreeTrack & FaceTrackNoIR, calibrating webcams, taking PS3 cameras to bits etc. When I put TrackIR on there - it just bloody worked. Reassuringly expensive??? :)
Always the case lol. I suspect they will have another sale near to Christmas, if not before. I'll be sure to put it up again.
Just to point out I posted this 3 weeks ago, Its also available via Steam for anybody who prefers.

Give this heat as its a good deal
I picked up A-10C Warthog and Black Shark 2 a while ago in a getloadedgo pack. I really should give them a good try sometime soon. They really are very detailed and complex simulators and require a lot of learning/study (and/or lots of notes) to play.
It's a good price and I would really like to get it just because imo it looks interesting with the level of detail that it goes to, (put it this way, I've got Hearts of Iron III + all the DLC so I don't think you could ever get more complex looking than that, haha), however I would rather purchase on Steam or have a physical copy because I don't know how much of a pain re-downloading or fast/slow the download would actually be from their site. Still, heat added.
Tempted by this, would like a physical copy though ideally, they very much are "study" simulators as one dude on amazon pointed out. Good to see the old combat flightsim genre back! PCs were built for these kind of games! VRS Superbug its another VERY detailed sim, but no combat yet in this one (its coming in an addon) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrdSyT4cuSU&feature=related
Fantastic game (flight sim) IF you're into them (and have the specs to make it worthwhile). Great price. Hot.
Probably not, but it looks very detailed.. to the point of boring to me. Good price though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9oI8u1gLp4
Great price but very mixed reviews on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00525AOXG/ref=s9_simh_gw_p63_d0_g63_i1?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=0EFDFFBM1GS9RGV96XWM&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=467128533&pf_rd_i=468294
