Seems v similar (identical?) to a Gearbest item, just more expensive than the Gearbest item at gearbest.com/ip-…tml

Guessing it's from china? Anyone used one for a baby monitor.

Not used this model but I have a range of IP cams and have used them as a baby monitor. Pic quality will be more than adequate and you can view from outside the house but with these cheap Chinese cams you usually have to use their own app.

Can you recommend a similar british made camera at a good price?

I would think the fire risk is pretty minimal to say the least it requires 5V at 3W to power it and doesn't include a PSU as far as I'm aware. Cheaply made chinese designed PSUs CE marked or not, can be a significant fire and electrocution risk so don't buy one off Ebay or from Amazon traders.

It may well be vulnerable to hackers, block outgoing internet access for it and run a VPN server on your network if you wan't secure remote access.

I have had this camera for a while and had hoped to get it working with blue iris software but cant get it working. The camera only allows a connection via chinese software via their website/network (assuming chinese server not sure).
Regarding a fire risk. mine didnt come with a mains adapter so as long as your using a decent usb charger im sure 5v wont catch fire.

got one via Gearbest a little while back, lasted a month before dying... it will restart but wont connect, so cannot recommend buying this.I did get refunded for it via the seller.

Can't be used with TinyCam then?

waste of money. got 3 of these over the past 2 years and each one always has router/wifi issue, the app is terrible and constantly crashes. avoid if possible and spend more on from amazon with good reviews

Banggood forum users report this rtsp url works (no password required):- rtsp://192.168.XXX.XXX/live/ch00_1

Pan and tilt apparently doesn't work with onvif.

post #6 for blue iris settings forum.banggood.com/for…tml

Got 2 from groupon for £29 And 1 from ebay @ £25. Not the best viewing field. But good value.. do I need it ? Will I use it ? Do I want it ?

"Same flaws" and other issues with this cam / clones and ONVIF. Yes, can view when away from home assuming both the viewing device and camera have active internet connection gadgetvictims.com/201…tml
