Thanks t0m OP updated

ooh, not bad...my work christmas do is a formal affair, so this could be worth getting.

You'll look more like a Brook Bond monkey than James Bond in this bit of tat. If you walk into the room wearing this everyone including yourself will know that your mom shops at Matalan.

Oh yes, if you do buy this - remember that you need to wear white socks and trainers as well - it's a rule.

I have to agree all of that. :-D

Snobs.

Agreed

I get a lot of clothes at Matalan and proud of it. :-D

Nobody would know this only cost £40, and do you really think anyone cares how much you spend on clothes! so I disagree with all the snobs above. :whistling:

I bet you identify with Ryhdian on X Factor.Plum in the gob brigade.:giggle:
Having said that i quite like him now.

noone would know this was from matalan unless you had a big sticker on the back! Come on its a black suit does it matter where its from!
you snobby lot!
Bargain i say! Mind you they got some nice ones in asda as well.

well if it's nylon or polyester then give it a miss
snob or no snob i'd never wear something that looks like you can slide off it and steer clear of anyone smoking........

We had our works' Xmas do invites this week and they have negotiated a "special deal" whereby we can HIRE all of this stuff from a local outfitters for the supposed bargain price of £38. To be able to BUY it brand new (and previously unworn by a sweaty beer monster) for £40 seems like a hot deal to me.

Hey it might be cheap looking but at the party (a) it's gonna be dark and (b) I'm likely to be too drunk to care.

Would probably have been even cheaper if they hadn't had to pay Dion Dublin to model it

In the brochure it says it's a "super fine wool polyester blend with elastane for stretch"

Voted hot. Not because I will be buying it, but because it's a great price and also to annoy the clothes snobs on here.

A hot vote from me too.

This type of suit is only worn once in a blue moon(by many I should imagine) so will do fine for those one off occasions.:)

It's not always what you wear but how you wear it;-)

I agree. If you go to a lot of formal do's then it would be worth springing for a decent DJ. But if its very rare and the other guests attend that type of event rarely as well, then its unlikely anyone would notice the difference.

The way some people talk, it's almost as if the moment you enter the room in this, everyone will stop talking/drinking, a spotlight will pick you out in the gloom and everyone will shout: 'Who's been to Matalan, then?'. The reality is the only slight downside I can see with this is that I'm convinced there will quite a few more punters who are wearing the same suit. But that's the sort of thing only females can't cope with, isn't it? j/k

Agreed about the " Snob " factor, some people really are pathetic, their expensive suits are probably made in the same factory anyway.:giggle:

this is a great buy if you need a dinner suit, and I do. Cruising the carribean on the Queen Mary 2 in February. I missed out last year and these are quite wearable for an evening. Last year I had to buy one just prior to the xmas season release and it set me back £150 including shoes and cuff links. You will also find the others will also follow Asda and the other Tesco.

This deal all in from Matalan is recomended. Your carnt buy a good dress shirt for less than £40 this really is buy and through away and just how many times will you be wearing a dinner suite.

And believe me all dinner suites look the same black Jacket / black Trousers and white shirt, men dont care and have no reason too (all the pot bellies still hang over).

If you are in the market for a formal dinner wear this is just the ticket, no will know its from matalan or Hugo Boss or any one else for that matter.

BARGAIN and I am gettin a second dinner suite!

Thanks chrishas8, not everyone can afford one of the more expensive suits, and not everyone wants to wear a second hand rented job.

I have rented before and will definitely be wearing one of these for my xmas do this year

Yes, of course it does. But with a username like yours, I'm suspecting you are only a high-flier in your Walter Mitty-like mind. :whistling: Or perhaps you are a waiter?

People, I'm not a snob but when I buy clothes I want to know that after tailoring they'll fit me and only me. I also want to know that I have something that can be used year after year and still look fresh.

If you wear a dinner suit 'once in a blue moon' then this is the deal for you. ;o)

Just looking through your history, you seem to be an expert critic on everything that is posted on this forum.
Maybe you need to get out more, then you would not be sick everywhere? :giggle: :-D :-D

I suggest everyone just ignores your posts. :-D

Its like the old silly argument over a pair of trainers you buy a nike air one for £60, while you can get one that looks like a nike air for half the price! To me clothes are clothes why pay stuiped prices just cause its a label as long as im happy with it sod what other people think about it
