Yeah but you'd only be able to record from the Freeview being transmitted from the box, not the TV.

cheers op - just bought one...

No problem, as long as her TV has a SCART socket on the back.

all i want is a pvr with a clock. vidoes used to have 'em. anyway HOT

It seems really good to me so Heat added. For £30 you cant go wrong and with a 12 month warranty so any problems straight back to them.

Just bought one to record the Rugby in the early mornings.

Ordered. great find

You will get problems with these, I had two both of them faulty. If you don't mind switching it off at the mains everytime you want to use it then this is good value for money!

have u seen the amount of Neutral & Negatives they've got.... OUCH!!

giving it a go thanks - my other freeview recorder is a bush one and it records only when it wants to (and then plays back like it is under water!) so hopefully this will be better!!!

Have to join which to see the reviews but there at £80 not £30.

A mixture of good and bad reviews on the Tesco site - 7.2/10 from 44 reviews based on an £80 selling price, not bad.
A think the point is this is a great price for a freeview recorder and is well worth a punt and if you're not happy with it for any reason then it's a simple case of return it.

Which? Reviews omit price from assessment criteria. It's left to the consumer to decide whether the product is value for money.

Heated, just bought one for my parents, lets hope its easy enough for them to use.

Ordered one for my dad. Hot!

It says typical price down the right hand side of £80.What it says anywhere else iv'e no idea cos i aint paying which for reviews.

I couldn't access the Which? Review myself, as my one month £1 membership has expired. Perhaps someone who has access will let us know how good this PVR actually is?

Ordered, thanks. Hopefully it'll hold up enough for the elderly neighbour to cope

My mum just bought one of these from Tesco, against my advice. She's just about to return it due to very poor tuner quality and the well-documented freezing issues (her neighbour has one and has the same problems). She's now going to spend £250 on a Humax because those actually work.

Over the course of it's lifetime the amount of electricity used by the clock far exceeds the electricity used for the use of the actual device that's why nearly all modern electronics don't have permanently on clocks anymore (that and the use of on screen menus)

I bought one last time round when they were £50, its awful it misses recordings all the time i've sent it back twice only for the them to return it saying its been "repaired" but all they do is a factory reset... So the warranty is a joke

HOT, ordered, for this price you can't go wrong really, and 12 month warranty

Taken a plunge for it. Average reviews for it, but for the price you can't really complain. Cheapest PVR / TV Recorder by a long way.

Love the way they give it a rating of S but don't actually tell you what S means

Someone who has actually had one, thanks for the info, I was going to get one but even at £30 it's not worth it if it doesn't actually record when it's supposed to.
Although if you need a freeview box then this could come in handy.

Brilliant price, HOT!!!!

can this record xbox/ps3 gaming?

I doubt it Zek, but I'm no expert but so maybe get a 2nd opinion

not hd waste of time

Got one for my Mum last time they popped up on hukd - remote was next to useless, had to get a one-for-all so she could operate it.

314 left at moment at this price.....thats a LOT of refurbs...plus the 15 other dions they have listed at the higher price

curious to know how this model compares to the free one that 188bet were giving away nearly a year ago

That was a TUTV Thomson PVR, not quite the same.

can this record xbox/ps3 gaming?

No. PVR's (except TiVo series 1) only record from their own internal tuners.

That might be your local transmitters fault, not sending out the signal with the channel. A shame you can't turn that option off though. Mine arrived so time to test to see how good our local is
