Cheap flights but why would you want to take the family there?
And August would be boiling - is it family
Friendly there?

Yas Waterworld, Ferrari world, malls full of family friendly activities, dune bashing, camel riding, quad biking, etc etc etc. Check TripAdvisor things to do

It's actually not that bad since most attractions are air-conditioned

Ive lived there for 4.5 years until recently. You've no idea what you're talking about, has its quirks but quite possibly the most family friendly and safest of places you can imagine whatever your beliefs and only a 90min drive to Dubai.

Totally agree that Abu Dhabi is a relaxed country having worked and lived in the Middle East for the past 10 years

You would be stupid to take your family to Abu Dhabi in July or August, the temperature will be 45-50 Celcius!

You would end up spending the whole day in the an air conditioned hotel, and unable to go to out with that heat.

The sun is so much more intense than in Europe at that time of year., and have very high humidity levels. Most locals from the UAE actually escape to the UK or Europe for the summer months, because the heat is that extreme.

Even though flights to the UAE might seem cheap even though it is summer, there is a reason for that.

I wish the flights were cheap to pakistan aswell even with similar temperatures they always double flight prices from around 400-450 to 900 or even more. in the summer holidays but of a con but the temperature ain't gonna kill u if u dress sensibly and take precautions it's fine to do activities like surfing shopping etc. going to the beach.
