Don’t expect it to be hot

Yeah Gatwick is freezing in Feb, Tampa by comparison will be lovely.
I've added the Premier Inn rates for London Gatwick if that's of any help to anyone!

Yes, I am aware of that but just pointing out that if you are looking for a hot time of year, leave it until April / May. Very little rain and very very nice climate indeed. This is why the flights are cheaper....
Good price, but not very good economy seating. Crammed in. If you dont mind 8-10 hour flights squashed together then thats not a problem. My wife and i flew Heathrow to Toronto on B787 dreamliner. Plane was nice, quiet, clean, great cabin crew, food was quite good. But very squashed. If you can get premium economy for a reasonable price, i would do that.
Its not just B.A. that are squashing as many seats as they can in economy, all major airlines are.
What was a standard 34-36 inch pitch is now around 31-33 inch pitch.
But a great price. Voted hot

It won't be lovely, it's Florida. Plastic America.
Crazy cheap because they will strike when you're due to fly

Eh, of course that’s why it’s cheaper.
We have been to Florida in February a few times and had a great time. We have always managed to get days that are hot enough for water parks although, admittedly, we've had some pretty chilly days too.

TPA is a much nicer airport than MCO.

Edit: Can't get anywhere near £211 for the actual half term week though.

I've been to Florida (most parts) in every single month of the year, and worn shorts and t-shirt when Floridians are wrapped up in coats. I've scraped frost off my hire car windows on a cold morning that within an hour was lovely and warm.

If you want to sit by the pool with a kindle and relax on a lovely warm day then February and March in Florida can give you that. Just not early on.

I've been in feb and it was 30 degrees most days. I've also been in December over xmas and new year, again early to mid 20s in temp. IMO best time to visit as it gets ridiculously warm April- October

What makes you think they will be on strike?

The pilots and cabin crew have all recently agreed new pay deals, so the likelihood of industrial action over the next 3 monts is virtually nil.
We went to Florida last Feb half term on a similar deal but with virgin holidays 854.00 for the week including 7 nights accomadation for myself and 11 year old son. It was baking. Over 30 every day, so don’t assume it will be cold

Id agree with this though I would emphasise that if you don't like humidity then do not visit in September. Yes it's cheap but it is unbearable.

Where do you extract these from?
Thanks for this! Florida is the perfect gateway for Caribbean cruises. Cheap internal flights between/from Tampa, Miami, Cape Canaveral, Fort Lauderdale etc give easy, affordable access to all of the ports. I can't wait for March, made all the better by this post!

Lol, you were lucky. When you say "again early to mid 20's" what do you mean? Like I said and still maintain, "don't expect it to be hot".

Not everyone can afford premium economy. To be honest I flew in squashed economy many times long haul and whilst it’s tiring, there are ways to make the flight better, you can walk around, stand up, make exercises. The price is a bargain so i would prefer to spend more money in Florida and fly cheaply than spend more flying more premium class and have less money for USA.
Will travel up honour your purchase? They took my cash on cheap NYC flights then cancelled them. Just be carefull.

I booked BA flights with them in early December using a vouchercloud £15 discount and the e-ticket was issued within 24hrs.

Are you joking? I’m assuming you’ve never been in February? Perfect heat and no humidity. This is on season for Florida since it’s not too hot and humid and is out of storm season. Average of 24 degrees going up to 30...
Absolutely amazing deal and we instantly booked flights to go in March.

However...

I haven’t received my e-ticket and missed a call from UpTravel not long after. Having read online reviews about the company, I fear that tomorrow morning we might be told our booking as been cancelled for some reason or another

bit precious are we? Yea, I used to live there. I don’t disagree but saying it’s cold is just stupid, seems like you’re just trying to look cool and knowledgeable but are actually just coming off looking a bit sad.

You’re right mate, no one should go in February, it’ll be freezing! Usually blizzards and really deep snow, wouldn’t advise it.

we went last New Year to Orlando and wore shorts and t-shirts everyday. The only difference is you need a zippy at night. We usually go March-May and the weather is at it's best, lovely and warm even at night but not too hot and not so much extreme weather. In July - September it's roasting at 6am when it's still dark, not much fun trudging round theme parks in that. It was 22C today in Orlando.
