+ around 100£ for a visa, unless you are French (half price)

Don't forget to consider the visa fee if you're a Brit. The visa will cost over double the price of this flight!

The list of those 18 eligible countries hasn't been published yet.
Similar e-visa program for citizens of 53 countries is in place for Kaliningrad region and far east of Russia and UK isn't on the list. electronic-visa.kdmid.ru/ind…tml
We should lobby the same for russians coming to here

They haven't announced yet which countries this will apply to and UK not expected to make the first list. Maybe from 2021...
So in conclusion £150 for a return flight to St Petersburg+Visa. Still a deal compared to normal cost.
@reindeer333 you should amend your description about the free visa (which in any case won't be free when it finally comes into force)

Know whats a poor response to a country doing a bad thing?

We are already refusing visas for Russians left right and centre, especially since they seem fond of importing exotic chemicals. The UK will maybe make the free list after Putin dies or is ousted.

But what about those who genuinely wish to view Salisbury Cathedral?

They’d probably have ended up going in the wrong direction, anyway. GLONASS isn’t all that.
The visa though

How do you determine who is genuine?... Maybe ask Putin since he is such an honest guy?.

Well hopefully he will do better than Theresa May
The e-visa is not available to UK or US passport holders

We have to supply fingerprints for a visa as well since UK has started asking Russians for them. Visa costs £108 takes 20 working days in England and 5 in Scotland. We know this because Scotland play there 10th October. £108 to see us hammered in Moscow.
Beautiful city, by all accounts but the cost and hassle of getting a Visa puts me off. I am going to Kyiv and Odesa in September. Near as damn it

Thanks, edited out
Kiev and Lviv in particular are fantastic places in Ukraine. Highly recommend as way to avoid the £100 visa sting and still enjoy similar cultural experience.
Less then 50 quid to get killed thats a bargain.
