Newer, but totally different. This is a hardcore rally sim with no rewinds, gymkhana etc. It's brutal but it's fantastic. I use a wheel, pedals, racing seat etc it's great fun.

It’s actually surprisingly playable on controller too. It’s impressive how well they make it seem to handle just using the analogue sticks.

Obviously I’d love a full wheel and pedal setup but alas I think I missed the window and kids have taken over... maybe when I retire 😬

Yeahh too right, I played it on controller first and it was mint. The wheels and pedal setup is next level though, if a bit cumbersome to set up and store. Worth it though

Maybe the kids need one...

Does it have a playground/training area like dirt 4?

I'm not actually sure, sorry. I just pick a track and a car and go over and over again till I nail it, taking time off each run. I don't even do the career mode. I loved the first Dirt Rally, the only thing worse about this one is the lack of snow tracks, though they have brought over some of the tracks from Dirt Rally as DLC.

No Pikes Peak either. To me it feels very similar to Dirt 4 just with an insane amount of DLC.
To fully enjoy this game unfortunately you need a lot of dlcs :/
It's a shame Codies have put loads of dlcs on this game.
I'm on WRC7 and it is just as good/better with no dlcs required.
I also find that the cars roll too easily in Dirt 2.0, or is that just me?

Is WRC 7 a step forward? I tried 6 and it was awful, 7 was meant to be 'more sim' but they say that every time with these annual releases.

I wasn't a fan of Dirt Rally, it still felt very beta even when it was released. Dirt 4 for me was an improvement, and as I said above 2.0 feels similar to Dirt 4, both are on Gamepass and it's still £1 for 3 months. I'd obviously give 2.0 the nod as it's still being developed and there is more content available, although it's virtually all DLC. Codies are having a laugh with their DLC model ATM.

Yep. I tried 6 when it was free on Games with Gold and it played badly, I found WRC 7 at a decent price, did a bit of homework with reviews etc... and it seems way better.
I tried the free play weekend of Dirt 2.0 and I am glad I never bought it.
