Bit lame to do this tbh, these guys worked hard on the game for years. Just pay the £30, it's a 50+ hour game and a wonderful peice of art, they deserve your money.

Great game, heat from me
Damn. Paid £30 when it came out. Still not played it...
Heat! First Cyberpunk 2077 for £25 and now this.

Windscribe is usually a safe bet for a free vpn
If you want to feel less guilty about buying this cheap from GOG, it's on the epic store for $9.99 with a Argentinian Vpn
Brilliant BAFTA award winning soundtrack by British Sea Power too!

Awesome, I did not know that... I used love a bit of BSP
Do either of these vpn options mean I'd have to have foreign launcher accounts or have to play through a vpn?

I have both Epic and GoG accounts but I don't want to have to keep logging in and out of them every time I want to play...

Heated OP!
Kinda lame to do this to an indie dev
Terrible 'game' but ok price? Not voting hot or cold.

Isn't this the case for everything though? Just because it's published by Ubisoft or EA doesn't mean a poorly paid dev/tester/artist didn't work their socks off for someone else's entertainment.

I would never spend £30 on a game- the most I've spent on a game in recent years is £12.99 on No Man's Sky- so at least if I were to pay £6 for this the devs would be getting something rather than nothing.

No you only need the VPN for purchase and it works on your normal account. Once you’ve bought it, switch the VPN off and download it. You’ll never need to use the VPN again for it

I'm not on benefits, thanks. What a strange thing to say - is there something the matter with you?

EDIT: I DM'd the bloke to ask him what he meant by his comment but he's gone all shy and won't answer- and now he's liked his own comment!

Put it this way, if everyone bought games with VPNs a lot of studios wouldn't be able to get investment for video game production because the return would be so low. We'd literally have no games.

So, yeah, do that if you like, but some customers like to support the industry and artists they enjoy.

The gaming section of this site is entirely about getting games at a discount- an effect of which is depriving the studios of maximum profit. If you want to guilt-trip people about that, then you're in the wrong place. Where does it end? You could criticise people who purchase bundles or use game subscription services, again depriving studios of a full-price purchase.

Anyway, there are loads of CDKeys deals here- I believe CDKeys resells keys from foreign markets to customers in the UK. You'll have to complain about those deals too.

Right, you're using a VPN to purchase a copy of the game not intended for you. That's completely different to a retail sale at an outlet in your country.

Whatever makes you feel better bud....

People are entirely entitled to buy goods from overseas if they can get an item more cheaply you know; why so precious about games? (I say that as an ex games developer myself)
£6.23 for me with my Revolt card, I do love a bargain!

Heated OP and God bless Capitalism and the free market
£6.50 for me through paypal. Heat added.
This would go nicely paired with the gaming laptop I bought from a deal on here last week
To expand a bit on the epic option you need a new account tied to the address of the region you're gonna use and need the VPN for purchasing but thats about it, so i think the GOG method is a bit easier.

But yeah this is basically exploiting regional pricing so I get why people would be so against it. But I think it's better the devs get Some money rather then None if you buy from grey market sites like G2A and cdkeys or just pirate it. And every pc game will go on a 75% off sale at some point so it's not much difference from that in the long run.
I tried windscribe but it wouldnt let me join a Russian server. Is there any other free vpns where I can do this please?

I don't know how an "ex developer" like yourself can have such a reductionist outlook on the concept of sales. Getting a discount on a video game has absolutely nothing to do with depriving a studio of maximum profit, it's about getting a video game for cheaper. If you enjoy the subsequent effect of hurting a company financially, you do you. Just know it's very odd and not what the general public thinks about.

Bundles and game subscriptions are for many people ethically sound. The developer (or more likely the publishers) have authorised the game to be sold at that price to you, which is unlike VPN and grey market deals which patently aren't authorised deals for you. I mean, I can link resources explaining why regional pricing exists if you're really that confused.

The fundamental ethical dilemma of buying something for less than the developer intended for it to be sold at is pretty clear cut. Whether you sit on either side I don't care since I'm not going to change hearts and minds either way, but your deceiving and toxic response to someone highlighting that ethical issue is pretty scummy.
So I'm "odd", I "enjoy hurting a company financially", I'm "deceiving, toxic and scummy"?

I'd think more of you if you showed you were capable of having a civil disagreement with someone without hurling personal abuse.

I mean, you did literally say you engage with deals and listed a primary effect being that it hurts the developer financially. You also clearly could not care less that you're cheating the developer out of money through circumventing regional pricing, so I concluded you enjoy hurting a company financially. At the very least you're absolutely content with it, which is just as deplorable in my opinion.

Obviously if you want to take that as me being a big ol' meanie, please do so. Your argument didn't have any legs to stand on anyway so jumping ship quickly is probably best for both of us.

Silliest thing I've heard in a long time- you're bashing me for "engaging with deals" at a deals site. Why are you here then? Presumably it's to moralize to others, as I see you don't share any deals yourself.

The funniest part is, I didn't even buy the game- I don't like the look of it. You've worked yourself up into a judgemental lather over something I didn't do.

You're right, I'm happy to jump ship here and leave you to reflect on your folly. Night night and goodbye.

I'm bashing you for demonising others for witholding from certain deals. Try reading next time. Night.
