Discount flight - website & avios glitch @ British airways

You can discount your flight without using avios points due to a website glitch.

What you need to do:

Proceed to book flight. At the booking screen after selecting your flights you can select to use avios points for a discount.

Choose the maximum discount available with your number of avios points (125, 60 etc.) and proceed through booking to the payment page.

Once at the point of entering your card details, use the browser back button to head back to the initial page that you selected the avios discount on. Choose to remove the discount (Not Now / None)

DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE. IGNORE THE PRICE DISPLAYED ON THIS SCREEN

Proceed forward to the final payment screen, and the price will still be discounted

Confirmed and works very well. Unfortunately I only have 2500 avios points :-/

I have 400k plus points, wonder what I can muster up

just checked 3 destinations not working at all.

Works for me booked business class to Munich for just the reward saver fee, see whether it gets cancelled

Only seems worthwhile spending them on first class as all you have to pay is the airport taxes etc, hotels are a rip off with avios

you would be emailed the cancellation jezza, if not and they did that you are entitled to compensation for cancelled flight, its a no brainer if you want to travel and have spare cash

My card was charged full price . Email confirmation showing full price.I had to book flight anyway but be aware charging full price.

I got Heathrow > Munich 19th - 21 January business class £50, meant to use 15500 avios too but not been charged these and only £50 took out

It comes through as full price on your credit card and e-ticket

This appears to work as the final payment page shows only the discounted price but if you check your credit card afterwards then the full undiscounted amount is shown as pending and if you look at your invoice/e-ticket then again it shows the full undiscounted price.

Yes there is a glitch but not one that actually saves you any money or Avios points. Most likely then you will end up paying full price. You have to call 0344 493 0787 to cancel within 24 hours

Yes as I didn't want to pay full price....

Remember though, the first rule of these glitches is to never call the airline...

Well...when they realise the glitch they'll deduct it later. Wouldn't jump on the bandwagon just for the sake of it !!
