One reviewer calls the Guanqin GJ16034 the "Poor Man's Cocktail Time" but it's really not that similar, just a simple sunburst dial versus the Seiko CT's detailed sunray dial.

I have only really ordered my Axon 7 from there (almost a year ago), but I plumped for a Blue Guanqin Nomos-alike when I saw how cheap this promotion is.

I know places like Aliexpress, Creation Watches and the like are attracting Customs charges more these days so can't say for sure. I'll update.
Looks great - hot
I wana buy a watch. But which one?
The movement in this watch alone is worth the money
Someone's having a one-handed laugh with this brand name.
Bought as my cheap Indian Ebay Seiko 5 is running very fast, looks like a nice watch and with the Seiko movement should be good. I like the glass panel on the back. Unbelievable for the price.
I don't have long-term experience of Chinese watches or their usual prices, and I'm currently waiting on my two China watches being delivered (my first purchase was the Quartz Nakzen Pagoda, another that gained raves), but ohhenry1 on WUS says here

If you like any (or all!) of those Gearbest deals that HoustonReal recently posted, then I would advise buying now. Those are screaming good deals on what are very high quality watches; you'll almost certainly find them to be worlds better than your Winner watches (objectively, they are superior in all respects).
Really, I wouldn't be shy about it, as they are excellent watches at the lowest prices I have ever seen. And *IF* they ever were to go on sale for lower prices in the future, it won't be by much. Truly no point in waiting.
I say this from personal experience with both Cadisens and Guanqins.

Funnily enough, I read a thread about that the other night. There are TONS of Indian Seiko sellers on ebay, it's really hard to determine who the shady ones are.

I thought it was worth a go, bought 2 and they both ran fast but I could live with it (A couple of minutes a day). The one I liked most recently started going haywire and either goes fast or slow by about 30 mins a day. Totally useless now and I really liked that one. The other I'm not such a fan of so I've been looking for another. Apparently the HMT ones usually work fine though. It's a gamble and I'm sure some people get lucky but I wouldn't do it again. EDIT - Thought I'd add the movements were definitely genuine, just badly repaired I suppose. Dial paint all looks good too.

I dabbled with some Indian watch sellers years ago. Just to get cheap mechanical watches with no makers mark. You could see the odd makers mark here and there and the marks were very well defined. I managed to get a genuine Roamer but with a cheap face. Anyway then they started with Citizen, Richo and Seiko fakes. I guessed they were fakes anyway because all these watches appeared within weeks and persisted. Then I noticed the watches they were selling for a tenner delivered - the ones I had been buying - also started to get 'makers marks' but obviously false to me based on what I had seen before. And then a lot use their own stock photos and send you a different movement but with the same face and strap. Very muddy waters with them.

EDIT I should say I mean maker's mark on the movement not the face.

Hi OP......thanks so much...I have just bagged a black GUANQIN GJ16034.

£28.00 and I opted for £2 insurance....someone asked about tax and customs...I have not been hit by either on my last few gearbest purchases but mileage may vary.

Cracking watch at the normal price but an absolute bargain at this price...seiko movement and sapphire crystal.

Did you go for the Guanqin Nomos in the end...it is a superb watch and one of my faves!

Thanks again!!

Hello glam1 - yes, I went for the Guanqin Nomos-alike in Blue. Did you use the app to get it down to £28? Didn't even occur to me to think of the Gearbest app (guess who's never installed it!) till someone pointed it out on Watchuseek. I'm happy anyway, the price was £10+ more only a week ago
Hi Louise
I am on pc....used your link...put it in my basket and it came up at £28...happy days...gearbest does not always work as smoothly as that though as I am sure you know lol.
I follow justonemorewatch, perthwatch, 24hoursatatime and minitwatch(great puppets)...also planning to put my own channel up soon!!
They are all great guys that are passionate about watches and most importantly they are not watch snobs.
You will love the Guanqin Nomos.....keeps great time and looks fab on the wrist.
Just noticed my order was shipped last night, pretty much a day after ordering - says DPDUK1 as the Shipping Method.
Can't see Seiko movement mentioned.
stop tempting me, too much watch porn on this listing!

Can't see Seiko movement mentioned.

True....no real mention of seiko movement or sapphire glass on the product description but several trustworthy youtube reviewers have confirmed that the watch has both.
I have the Guanqin Nomos and it had no mention of sapphire glass but I can confirm that it is sapphire(tested with a nerdy mate's crystal meter).
ssc157 m ago

Can't see Seiko movement mentioned.

I watched loads of Youtube reviews/read forum feedback for each watch I listed (so I can spot inconsistencies), which is where I gleaned all the data. As we know, Chinese sellers tend not to be that detailed.

For clarity, I should point out the Nomos-alike Guanqin GJ16106 has a Hanzhou 2b00 Movement - verified here by HoustonReal on WUS, here too, though I got it from a Youtube review.

HoustonReal (again) says here
The Hangzhou 2000 series was based on the Seiko 7009, thus the similarities to other Seiko calibers. Apparently, this movement comes with an open engraved or generic striped rotor, and is available in Date@6 and Date@3 versions (2BA0).

Hmm definitely not. I’ve used Chinese made movements and they are pretty poor generally. Poor time keeping and for some reason, the crowns are always awful. Obviously if this is a Seiko movement- it should be fine.
Really like the look of the GUANQIN GJ16009 Retro day date skeleton

Does anyone have experience or know what the movement is like in this watch, its a Shanghai JHS-70G movement
Wondering how accurate it maybe, don't want something that looks that nice but then is atrocious at timekeeping

The movement, and your specific model of watch, are discussed here if you want a wee read

Edit: Doesn't seem to shed much light on accuracy..though the reviews I saw seemed mostly positive.

The main complaint seems to be that the 1-31 date function seems to be rather hard to read.

Wow that William guy seems to be very knowledgeable on movements
Great stuff
May have to bite the bullet now

Its either the Retro skeleton or the GJ16034 which incidentally has gone down to £26.52 in my basket..hmmm

Thats the one thing on this watch that doesn't actually bother me because I just don't use a watch for that feature, I use it to tell the time, accuracy is far more important to me, I do like the look of the retro day date dials though on this face
ZEbbEDY22 h, 44 m ago

Limmy fan, perchance?

The G16034 still says £28.43 in my Basket today, very odd..
There's another Nomos-alike on Gearbest for around the same price - the Cadisen C1030, though it comes in less colours. Black, White, Natural White (Gold bracelet).

The text isn't as jarring as the Guanqin but for some reason there's not many reviews of the other Automatic varieties (Feice/Feike, Cadisen, Binger). Apparently they all still use the same movement, though I've seen a few mention that the Cadisen has Mineral Crystal, not Sapphire.

That Cadisen would have tempted me as I prefer the minimal lettering on the watch face but I am still loving the Guanqin.
I took the metal bracelet off as that type of bracelet screams "old creepy guy" to me...sorry to all creepy guys out there.
Have a £5 ebay "leather" strap on it...very comfy to wear and I love the fact that you get the blue glint from the hands depending on how the light is hitting the watch.
Looks big in the pics but actually wears nicely on my just under 7 in wrist...oh yes...I know the date is wrong...not much of a date setter I am afraid!!

Which strap did you buy?

I can recommend one, which I mentioned here - cost me around £6 each. Doubt it's real leather but I'm pleased with it - seller also had other colours but only seems to have Blue now. Lots of similar ones from different sellers (Google Images helps), naturally I went for the cheapest I could find.

Some people don't like deployment straps, though.

A very basic ebay "leather" strap.....the seller I bought from only seems to have a few left but you can get the same straps from a lot of sellers on ebay.
ebay.co.uk/itm…473
It is actually a decent strap for less than £4
I usually get my quality leather straps from here.....
ukwatchstrap.co.uk/
This site is a leather watch strap bonanza and all at decent prices compared to a lot of other sites - highly recommended!!

Relative Time has uploaded a recent review of the Guanqin Blue Nomos homage GJ16106 - most reviews on Youtube are for the White. Nobody seems to be reviewing the other brands?

One comment says they got 50 Hours run time, Relative Time got his watch to run for 49 Hours. It's rated as having a 35 Hours Power Reserve.

There's Aliexpress images where you see the GJ16034's Seiko NH36A movement (though, of course, Chinese listings aren't always 100% trustworthy). This watch has been out a while, and extensively reviewed and verified (like most of the watches mentioned above) so I would order with confidence.35710345-xY8GG.jpg
