Until the 29th April, discounted Chester Zoo tickets can be purchased from the Visitor Information Centre (located by GAP Store) at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet @ £18 for Adults, £15 for Children. They're valid for use on the day OR UNTIL 21st July 2016 - so you can buy ahead for flexibility, save money and bypass queues at the Zoo's ticket booths!

Cheshire Oaks is about 10 minutes from the zoo. The Visitor Info. Centre opens at 9.30 a.m.. It's just off M53 jct. 10, or M56 jct. 15.

Currently, tickets at the Zoo gate cost £26 Adult / £22 Child. You can buy on-line from the Zoo at a lower price but tickets only valid for a specified date - and still dearer than from Cheshire Oaks. Family tickets might work out better, so best to check and compare.

I appreciate not everyone approves of zoos, but for those who want to visit I hope this info. is of use. I've visited a couple of times in the last month - it's a lovely zoo and a great day out. The new Islands section is a must!

£26 to get into a zoo!!! oO

This is great. Just wish I knew this before.

Last time I went they put the lions away because it was windy.

Great zoo!

Fantastic day out, worth every penny

For London and nearest areas Colchester Zoo is best option.

A friend of mine went to visit the pandas at Edinburgh Zoo, only to find that one was being kept inside "because it had a bad night"...

You obviously haven't been to Chester Zoo, you can spend all day there and still not see all of it.

Yep. And, if you opt to accept the 'voluntary donation' for animal conservation work I believe it goes up to £28!!

if you get a kids sponsor and animal pack (have to order in advance) for £60 you get a stuffed toy, 2 open ended tickets (each for1 adult or 2 kids) a magazine, stickers, name on a board etc. not much dearer when you add in the toy etc. than standard tickets.

Chester Zoo is the best Zoo in England (not been to Edinburgh) but they are taking the pee with their ticket prices. This is a great offer for a great Zoo and £18 is probably about the right price.

I think £22 is a reasonable price for Chester Zoo. I was there yesterday from 10am to 6pm and still didn't manage to see it all. Also considering they are investing in the future of endangered animals then it represents a fair price for all.

Well worth the price and very highly reccomended

Or if in the Mersey rail area travel train then bus to zoo and entry adult £21.50 and children age 5-15 £17.50...

Love Chester zoo, love the history and why it is important, great educational tool for the kids and best off all the animals aren't really behind bars it's a more natural feel. Sustaining and helping endangered animals survive from us humans have destroyed for them. I'd happily pay a lot more knowing it's going back to help them save endangered animals

I'd forgotten about the train + zoo ticket combination. It's a good option for those not driving - mentioned it in the past to a neighbour.
Here's the Zoo's link for that offer showing more details: chesterzoo.org/pla…ail

I agree that it's a great Zoo doing great work. However, for many it is an expensive day out. That's why I posted details for the reduced price tickets via Cheshire Oaks. Hopefully, it might encourage a few more visitors to attend who might not have gone otherwise.

I was a member for many years when my children were younger and used to visit often. My kids were members for several years too and enjoyed the regular fun/educational events specifically organised for them - thanks to Penny and her colleagues! (I wonder if they still run the best treat of helping a zookeeper for the day? My son's favourite event!)

It's changed and improved/evolved considerably over the past 20 years and is a wonderful day out.

I made the mistake of going on a bank holiday. Literally the whole of Chester was there as soon as it opened

If you like going to the zoo and have a zoo near you then it may be worth getting an annual membership at that zoo as sometimes this entitles you to free tickets to visit other zoos like the Chester one.
