I dread to think what sort of condition this would be in, Ive bought discs from them which have been truly battered.

Good deal but most items from Cex are in poor condition and just about acceptable.

Well if it is to bad you will normally be able to send it back...

Pre-Owned stuff can be in great nic as well, don't judge a book by it's front cover... Like customer returns, just a bit of a gamble, but if to dissatisfied take it back instore and get a refund...

You could, except when you email them they just completely ignore you

I returned something and took me around a week to complete... Was happy with that, had no problems at all, have you. ?

They've also taken down the forum so that's one method of getting their attention done away with. After a couple of months all those complaints will simply vanish from Google's cache.

I wouldn't completely write CeX off as everything I've sent directly has been accounted for and paid, most items I've bought through the website have turned up in fair condition and usually in good time. It's when you have to get in touch that things go south, fast. I get the impression they're understaffed at their HQ as it's usually just the one guy that responds and I'd agree with the comment above they do ignore some emails, usually only answering very specific questions regarding an existing order.

My local CeX aren't bad but I find it's more convenient to send direct a lot of the time and they normally don't have what I want anyway.

If only they'd hire more C/S staff.

i wouldnt buy preowned from a website. instore is another matter COLD

If you wouldnt buy one - WHY are you voting or commenting at all!

its a reccommendation based on passed experience and care for my fellow … its a reccommendation based on passed experience and care for my fellow man. its also my carefully thoughtout reason for voting cold. It ADDS to the discussion. I said that "i wouldnt buy online" and "instore was a different matter". I'm not sure what your point is ??? but alas i have answered your question. English GCSE results today. How did you do this time?

Evidentially from your passage you are awaiting your results again, I passed my english GCSE's 18 years ago.
But If you really want to pick holes about english language........thoughtout isn't even a word!
Also - 'its also my carefully thoughtout reason for voting cold' I think you'll find theres a capital 'I' in 'Its' when you start a new sentence also 'i wouldnt buy online' has a capital 'I'- but then again starting a sentence with 'it' or 'its' is bad grammar anyway.
Taken from Writing.com :
Starting sentences with it is a bad habit. Your readers will need to pause momentarily while they figure out what it is, and your sentences will be clumsy. Writing this way may be easy, but starting sentences with it is usually not a good idea. If you do this too often, you may annoy your readers, which is never a good idea. '
If you are going to be nasty to people, perhaps next time it should be better 'THOUGHT-OUT'
