Good price for what it is but this is not what to buy your child who is after a netbook! This is a slow machine, fine for someone doing basic stuff and needing limited use of the internet. However, as is usually the case, if you can afford more, go for a second hand netboook. But if this machine is what you need then this is a very good price.

Is 800x480 really high resolution on a 7 inch display?

248mz cpu with 64mb ram. this is gonna be absolute pants

The is a few ways you run linux on this.
You could boot linux from inside winCE

I'm clueless. But I'm assuming if you can put Linux on then you can put win98 or 2000 on. And then the browser will display flash and so on...

I still have a win98 machine - only Ubuntu boots faster than it! But I would not expect this Disgo machine to be able to run win98. Never tried though and willing to be corrected.

The problem you might have with putting win98 on this machine will be drivers
