Disney are introducing new 12” vinyl-sized collectable Big Sleeve Editions (seriously, that's what they're called) that contain both the blu-ray and DVD discs as well as exclusive 12” art cards.

I guess you'll have to balance up the rather dashing artwork and a surefire conversation-starter among friends versus the fact it will completely screw up the proportional uniformity of your DVD/blu-ray collection. Or it could just make a really neat Christmas gift.

An initial six titles are available to pre-order now ahead of their release date of November 28, all £19.99 from Amazon which seems reasonably priced:

Finding Dory

amazon.co.uk/Fin…9RT

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

amazon.co.uk/Sta…I1H

Guardians Of The Galaxy

amazon.co.uk/Gua…15B

Beauty And The Beast

amazon.co.uk/Bea…DK/

Aladdin

amazon.co.uk/Ala…5A/

Cinderella

amazon.co.uk/Cin…3B9

For those without Prime and needing to spend 1p more to take advantage of free delivery for purchases of £20+, just look for a cheap add-on item (make sure it's in stock, otherwise it could delay the delivery of the item you actually want), such as:

34p - Disposable thermometer: amazon.co.uk/Tem…RQ2

39p - Giff-Gaff sim card: amazon.co.uk/Gif…7OE

45p - Hacksaw: amazon.co.uk/Rol…6HA

EDIT: £20 is the standard price for these Big Sleeve Editions at retailers, so you could actually order them for £18 delivered through Zoom if you use the SIGNUP10 promo code which takes 10% off for new customers:

Heat for deal and effort. Thanks kestrelcampbell

Well overpriced for a bit of extra coloured cardboard..

Disney just taking the **** now milking it with these stupidly designed over-sized sleeves. Cold

I'm sure they look great, and respect to the effort made by the OP.

But seriously, how many copies of a film does even the die-hard fan need? As with many of the reissued, remastered, deluxe, superdeluxe box sets of albums, this is about extracting money from the fan/collector for stuff that will sit on a shelf and gather dust.

With Disney DVDs 2 for £12 or Blu-rays 2 for £15, this is an expensive edition.

I don't disagree with any of that. It's only really a worthwhile deal if you don't already own the titles listed. These Big Sleeve Editions.all come out on the same day that Finding Dory is released, and FD is £14.99 for just the blu-ray alone, so I'd suggest that particular title represents the best value for those thinking of making a purchase, even just for the novelty factor.

The Finding Dory set also includes a blu-ray bonus disc (that will likely be missing from standard £15 release, in US releases bonus discs come as standard) and even includes a DVD copy.
The only thing that's currently putting me off is that it's pretty cumbersome.
