Just picked up District 9 on Blu-ray for just £12 instore at Tesco Warfield. Seems a good price to me and according to the woman on the till she'd sold a few already!
£17.99 on Tesco Entertainment.

District 9

Producer Peter Jackson ('Lord Of The Rings') presents this action-packed instant sci-fi classic. Rich with social and political themes, District 9 is also a spectacular effects-driven event picture, offering clear evidence that blockbuster movies can have a brain to go along with the brawn!

From producer Peter Jackson and director Neill Blomkamp comes a stunningly original sci-fi thriller!

1982, Johannesburg, South Africa: A large alien spaceship hovers above the city carrying hundreds of thousands of ailing extraterrestrial creatures that the population of the 'Joburg' would soon come to unaffectionately refer to as 'Prawns'.

Twenty-eight years later and tensions are mounting. The 'Prawns' live in a militarized ghetto zone called District 9 where they are confined in squalor. Munitions company Multi-National United is contracted to remove the extraterrestrial element with force to a distant compound. Unexpectedly, bureaucrat Wikus van der Merwe supervises the military charge. However, when Wikus discovers an unknown substance and accidentally ingests it, he soon becomes the most hunted man in Johannesburg. Alone and stripped of his former life, Wikus' only allies are the creatures he once sought to banish.

Hope it's this price in my local tomorrow. Was pence short of £20.00 on Saturday so I'm not holding my breath.

There are a lot of secrets in District 9
Yep plenty of seafood!

What a weird movie

£20 in my local... Saw it on the shelf before.

its £12 in my local and they're also throwing in a free love song cd as a valentine sweetener

Best price ive seen this offered at so have some heat. Didnt really think the film was that good but thats just my personal opinion. Good price if you want to buy it !

Picked up this and Moon on Blu-ray for £19.98 from MyMemory before Christmas... so technically they were £9.99 each.

But good price all the same!

Loved the film and am waiting for a good price on Blu Ray , I dont fancy making a hike to Tesco's in case mine isnt doing the offer but have some heat .

Just picked up my copy, thanks OP

crap film

watched it last night, not a bad movie. Very different approach.
Would make Aliens happy and Prawns annoyed.

Love that movie...Different from other alien movies.

If only you could buy two copies of this. I don't like any other film they are offering.

That would have been a good deal, tried to order 2012 and District 9 for £20.98 but 2012 is out of stock so can't order them both....:?

Why didn't you like it? Was it too complicated for you tiny brain?:)

Great film and a great price for Blu-Ray if you can't get it with anything you want on the BOGOF at MyMemory

Fookin' prawns!

This is in the big Tesco at this price in Carlisle. POS reads full price but scans through at £12.00.

MyMemory also has zombieland in their buy one get one free but like 2012 they say out of stock.
Tempted to go for Moon, looks like District 9 is up to £20.98.

No wonder Zombieland and 2012 are out-of-stock... they're both not released til March.

Obviously MyMemory haven't heard of the term "pre-order"!

Nice one. No bother

Excellent film that stands up to repeated viewing. Great spot. Heat added.

Great film +1. A really refreshing (and funny) film for the sci-fi/alien genre.

I'd really like to see a sequel, but can't see how it could be done without feckin' it up.

I'll chance it and see if my local tesco have it in stock tomorrow. Have some heat my man.

I hope we aren't going to have a 'Crap Film' vs 'Great Film' fiasco. Everyone is different, everyone likes different things therefore some will like the film some won't, 'nuff said!

Anyways, more importantly thanks to CKBhuna for the info.

I liked this movie and have enjoyed everything Peter Jackson has made after first seeing Bad Taste and Brain Dead, Heavenly creatures and of course LOTR, etc.

Disappointed that the Halo movie was halted mid production due to childish issues with the corporate bodies involved but this movie kinda makes up for that and has a lot of the documentary style action that many of the finished Halo scenes had which can be seen on youtube.

Great film so here's some heat!
