hmv exclusive version - Limited Edition steelbook edition, only available at hmv. From producer Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings Trilogy) and director Neill Blomkamp comes a startlingly original science fiction thriller that "soars on the imagination of its creators" (Peter Travers, Rolling Stone).

With stunning special effects and gritty realism, the film plunges us into a world where the aliens have landed... only to be exiled to a slum on the fringes of Johannesburg. Now, one lone human discovers the mysterious secret of the extraterrestrial weapon technology. Hunted and hounded through the bizarre back alleys of an alien shanty town, he will discover what it means to be the ultimate outsider on your own planet.

Blu-ray is lovely and I'm told the CGI knits together better with the picture (haven't compared). Certainly doesn't look like obvious CGI. dvdbeaver.com/fil…htm

Blu-Ray would be the way I'd go, but screenshots can not tell the whole story. You would really need to see 'motion' to determine the quality of the CGI in my opnion. It really blended excellently on Cinema, probably the first time ever I couldn't really tell what was CGI...apart from those fookin prawns obviously

Thx OP, and yes, you need to add 'DVD' in the title somewhere.

This film is fockin' lush on blu-ray. The steelbook is one of the best steelbooks I have ever seen, real good quality, and an awesome picture of a fockin' prawn on it. (Sorry, couldn't resist!)

Region 1 is the best version.

The Prawn's were better, by far.

I love this film, so good I could watch it again, a keeper for your collection!

Great film, one that I would pay the extra for BluRay for

Guessing you haven't seen many Steelbooks then

Though you're quite right, it's a good quality one alright.

Nice one! Been meaning to buy this for a while now as I think steelbooks are crackin

Got some beauties, including:
Each of the Alien series (Definitive Edition)
Fight Club (Definitive Edition)
Rambo (new one)
Death Race
Cloverfield

£13 on Blu-ray for those that are interested. Looks amazing in HD.

I had not heard about this film, is it worth renting then? I like sci fi flicks, love serenity the new star trek that kinda thing, but don't want anything too violent or too much swearing.

Could anybody answer a question of mine? Want this bad but only want to get a steelbook version...i would much rather get blu ray but hmv says title deleted, so does that mean they wont get any more in stock? Or should u just get the dvd steelbook? Or is it that good in blu ray that i shouldnt get steelbook dvd and just get standard blu ray from shopto?

Thanks

awesome film, but imho everything is better in hd

rented it and i can confirm this film is rubbish:x
