I could not believe the price difference for Divinity Original sin 2 , 29.99 UK price, £10.08 based on the Russian price of 799 rubles.

*** VPN is only required for purchase not during game play *** Very easy method , takes around 5 minutes.

I have purchased using my regular UK GOG account with my UK registered credit card, installed and played the game , without running a VPN during game play.

The game is in full English text and English Audio.

The Standard edition = £10.08(Russia) UK price = £29.99
gog.com/gam…n_2

The Divine Edition = £14.50 (Russia) UK price = £40.99
gog.com/gam…ion

The Eternal Edition = £18.92 (Russia) UK price = £67.99
gog.com/gam…ion

I only have two GoG games on my account , the 1st one is Witcher 3 which I purchased upon release using a VPN, I think it had to be set to Poland with a VPN for ordering or similar....no issues for the couple of years I have been playing the game , no account ban etc...no issues at all , no VPN using while playing the game.

*** What are GOG.com terms and conditions when it comes to using VPN for buying games using a VPN :- their only opinion as stated on their website is :- "that's not cool."

support.gog.com/hc/…ent
6.11. Please treat this system sensibly and don't exploit it (for example by using VPNs or other methods to manipulate how your location appears) – that's not cool.

**** The Method I used for buying the game:-

Used my VPN ( ivacy.com) set to Russia

*** I found Opera browser worked the best for me , fresh download , all history and cookies cleared , only logged into GOG once the VPN was set to Russian ( I did run Google Chrome in tandem in another window using Google Translate , so I had a clue what was happening on screen) *****

1 )I Used my computer, Opera browser cleared history and cookies.(did work on my phone also using opera browser, I found chrome did not work , but prefer computer for this kind of thing anyway)

Surfed to the Divinity Original Sin 2 page.

Added to my basket.

logged in using my regular GOG account.

Paid via visa card, reason for visa card I had read earlier that PayPal does not work with most VPN programs and can cause a Paypal account to become locked.

*** you can pay via PayPal, Just disconnect VPN before login into your PayPal account ( Thank you Ovisan)

Started to download via the GOG client program.

Installed and happily played for 4 hours , all working perfectly.

Absolutely adore this game. Was well worth the 30 pound I paid

I was pretty much willing to pay full price , then I had a look around , I could not believe the price difference , took the risk and it works perfectly , full English audio and text , no VPN used during gameplay , Just like the Witcher 3 pre- order a couple of years back.
Does anybody else feel uncomfortable using a free VPN, and using it to transmit credit card details?
PIA doesn't have Russia or Ukraine as an option
On Origin you must close VPN when logging into Paypal.
Will GOG not work doing the same?

I should buy this but just ordered Dragon Ball FighterZ.

Decisions decisions....
Great Thanks
one of my all time favourite games, both 1 and 2 are incredible. Heat from me

Your connection to the website will still be over SSL, which sits on top of the VPN transport layer, so should be fine
I am buying it tonight. Thanks for great deal. Is it worth paying extra for more expensive editions.

It does work paying with PayPal. Just paid £10.54 for Divinity Original Sin 2.

Just disconnect VPN before login into your PayPal account.

Now taht I think about it GOG games must be really cheap during sales using this method.

Totally, the steam sale hopefully will return in February, I am going to buy Hob, currently around £6 via Russia, hoping for closer to £3
Just bought the Eternal edition as I've played neither but heard good things. Had to finally sign up to a VPN - went with NordVPN 3 year subscription via topcashback so probably cost myself more in the long run buying from Russia rather than the UK! Used Halifax Clarity card so hopefully got the best exchange rate.
And God knows when I'll start playing them as I've only just started Witcher 3 and also recently bought Tyranny on the cheap!

Seemed such a good idea at the time...

You will of saved around £48 before the cost of your VPN, nice saving.
Damn this is a fantastic deal, I did this for witcher 3 a year or so ago,no problems whatsoever!

think I'm going to pick up the eternal edition. Thanks man!
Wow!!! Thanks for this. I've been waiting for a decent price for this game for ages. Installing it now!

My pleasure, me too, I'm surprised the deal did not go hotter, considering the price and the quality of the game.

Just wouldn’t trust them, they are free for a reason, fairly easy for them to set up a man in the middle attack, and get your details that way, probably safer to use a credit card, that has some kind of fraud protection rather than a debit card - might add an extra safety net in?

I used a credit card and Ivacy is a paid for service

Yes, it's kind of strange that it did not get more heat.

Maybe people aren't really into top down RPGs anymore, who knows!

Yes, apologies, i did seem to gloss over the fact that you used a paid VPN in my enthusiasm to post, yes, thats much much safer

I would agree with using a credit card for extra protection, but also checking the SSL certificate is valid (i.e. that it hasn't been hijacked). To check a certificate in Chrome: ensure a green lock icon appears to the left of the URL, you can click it and then the word 'Valid' to check whose certificate it is. (In this case it should say issued to '*gog.com'.). Also don't use free VPNs with custom clients, I would always use the open source OpenVPN client and find a certificate for it that way (plenty list on VPNgate).

Just remember that a MITM attack is possible without a VPN though...
Guys im with IPvanish at the moment and they disconnected their Russian servers last year in July. I've tried to go through other Russian countries VPN and found a vpn for Maldova that kinda works. It now shows GoG's prices in Russian Rubles but i'm wondering if the price is the same as i don't believe it is. Can anyone post a screenshot of the price or let us know how much it is in Rubles so that i can do the conversion. At work at the moment and don't have my laptop so i will try it again tonight. Cheers for the help you beautiful people.

For me it showe 799 rubles, but I found opera browser worked best, clear all cookies and history too, make sure you are not logged into GOG via a UK IP address, before attempting and all history and cookies have been removed.

Thanks for the info dude much appreciated Downloaded opera last night but when I tried a VPN to Maldova it came up as 1439 rubles. I'll sign up to NordVPN and give it ago tonight. Again thanks for the post, the instructions and your help. It is truly appreciated

Love how easy it is switch proxy's on and off on windows 10, makes things really easy. Not sure why people keep installing VPN clients. So... anyone got any nasty emails from GOG yet?
