ordered thanks OP

Are these and the effect any good? Anyone have any experience of them

That's nearly 2 pints of beer for cardboard VR glasses?

.....I'd rather have the beer

I think when I looked before these were going for between 15 and 20 for abkit so price is a lot better. I went for the plastic version from deal extreme though. that one has head straps like the rift and if I watch a movie I would rather not have to hold something to my head for 2 hours.

posted last week..keep up..

Stocking filler sorted

Ordered these about a week ago when this deal was last up. Still hasn't been sent for shipping, anyone else have a long wait time for this?

Otherwise excellent deal though, couldn't get the individual parts cheaper.

The deal site says this is suitable for the nexus 6
(But, seriously, I can't use my nexus 5? That sucks!)

Edit: Just paid by PayPal, price came up as £6.12
Where to get some example video files? And what app is needed to watch them once this cardboard thing has arrived?

Oh, and thanks OP - heat added!

Download the google cardboard app, or if your feeling really adventurous the VR toilet simulator,,, If by chance you mean what next for VR then I think you need to be thinking along the lines of Neo and Mr Anderson

There's a review here. Bit of a long one but it shows them in action and the magnet etc

Quite tempted to try them myself

because your phone has a magnetometer in it (ie what it uses to be a compass etc) a magnet placed near it/moved near it will displace the magnetic field and your phone can detect that and act accordingly (ie do something)

nexus 5 should be fine. (there isnt a 6).
install google cardboard.

its dealextreme. dont expect to have it in your hands for at least a month after ordering.

so why did you come and post in this thread then, dumbass.

Well just keep drinking and you'll end up with beer goggles anyway

Ordered, will give it a go!

Count me in, this sounds like a laugh! I'm intrigued.
The price of a pint is approaching this let alone two!

Just noticed compatibility. Does the phone need to have a digital compass or will it work with any? I have a Moto G (along with 99% of every other HUKD user by now!)

I have tried the Moto G today and it doesn't work unfortunately. The phone doesn't have a gyro so the orientation is broken, but it doesn't even respond to the magnet.

just so people know (i don't think its been mentioned) you can use the durovis dive apps from the play store, some pretty good games if you have a controller,
