For the price it better take me on holiday!!

I bought a spark recently and I really should have done a bit of research first. The thing can travel a bit but in the UK the legislation only permits you to fly a maximum of 120m.Distance wise only 500m.You can’t fly it over areas with groups of people. Not within 20m of private property and various other things. The majority of the restrictions I can understand but I was that excited about getting one after looking at all the videos I really never looked into it much.
My point is that you cannot put a dji spark let alone the Mavic through its paces in the uk.Great devices but certainly not worth the money because of the legal limitations here

It is that restrictive though? Do you mean you can't fly higher than 120m? Seems pretty high to me! And 500m away is quite a long way isn't it?

I realise it can go much higher and further but those restrictions don't seem too bad although I always wanted to fly over my house and check out the roof etc so I assume I couldn't do that?

You might have problems flying over your own house as you can’t be within 50m of anyone else’s house. Not sure where the 500m distance came from. As long as it is within sight and the rules below are followed you’ll be fine.

According to UK laws regulated by the Civil Aviation Authority, consumer drones (classed as those that weigh under 20kg) must be flown no higher than 120 metres, and kept at least 50 metres away from people and private property, and 150 metres from “crowds and built up areas.”

I can understand the complaints about the rules as the capable range is so much more that what the rules say you do feel somewhat hampered. But they are the rules and everyone has to stick by them.

Good price for combo kit that is not a grey import (so comes with proper uk warranty). Normally £1359, voted hot.

It is weird how sometimes this site works. £200 cheaper, not a grey import with UK warranty and getting cold. I know it is not for everybody either too expensive or not somebody's cup of tea. But this site is about deals not about somebody's opinion . Definitely someone will benefit from it, I did 😁

I love mine got it a week ago (Mavic only) from John Lewis £974 2 yr warrenty...brought spare batteries from fleabay £75 each awesome bit of kit still got lots to learn but loving it

Lol. I didn't even check where this was from as I wasn't interested in buying one. Thought you meant there's a deal £200 cheaper than this that's gone cold.

I got mine beginning of this month. Very enjoyable drone.

This is a deal site this gets a hot vote for me as it’s 200 quid cheaper than everywhere else

Bit late to comment but the 50m from people, buildings etc is not horizontal. Imagine it as a bubble, 50m out and 50m up.

You can legally fly over buildings but must be 50m above them.

You can't however fly in a built up area like towns or city.

But taking off in a park etc, flying over the odd person, car or building is fine as long as your 50m from it and are sure you can do it safely.
