Product information:

ULTRA COMPACT

Introducing the Mavic Pro, DJI's ultra-compact drone that you can take anywhere your creativity takes you. This foldable drone is small enough to fit into a small backpack yet comes with all the features you'd expect from DJI, including a 4K camera stabilised by a 3-axis gimbal, collision-avoidance technology, automated flight controls and precision hovering. You can even fly up to speeds of 40mph and enjoy extended flight times of 27 minutes.

4K ULTRA HD VIDEO

If you're pretty serious about aerial photography then you'll be pleased to know that the Mavic Pro supports 4K video at 30fps. It also features a miniaturised ultra-precise 3-axis gimbal to ensure you shoot life-like video without any unwanted vibration and movement. The image sensor has been expertly tuned for aerial images so that you can extract the most from every single pixel. You can even flip the camera 90° for portrait oriented shots, just like you do with your phone.

The Mavic is only 1/6th the size of the Phantom 4 but this reduction in size doesn't mean a reduction in flight time. The Mavic actually flies much longer than you would expect from its compact size. It is capable of reaching an absolute max flight time of 27 minutes and a maximum flying distance of 13km (not range) due to its powerful, high efficiency motors.

NO BUMPS AND SCRAPES

An unprotected drone could hit obstacles during long distance flight or when descending from an inadequate height in Return to Home mode. The Mavic uses FlightAutonomy technology to sense obstacles up to 49ft (15m) away. It can then bypass these obstacles or brake to hover, reducing accidents even when flying beyond visual range.

FLY BY PHONE

Maybe all you want to do is grab a quick dronie, set up tracking to shoot a friend, or even just head skywards for a quick flight. All you need is your phone. Even better the Mavic Pro comes with all the usual smart features that the Phantom 4 has such as TapFly, Waypoints and more.

A NEW CONTROLLER

The new controller that comes with the Mavic Pro is now more refined than ever. The heads up display lets you fly with or without your phone and give you all the vital information you need. It also has the OcuSync transmittion tech which lets you fly up to 7km away and also switch between 720p or 1080p video downlink!

Key Features:

  • The DJI Mavic Pro folds down as small as a bottle of water, making it small enough to bring with you everywhere
  • OcuSync transmission system offers up to 7km of transmission range
  • Fly at up to 40mph or for as long as 27-minutes
  • True 4K, fully stabilized ensures smooth footage
  • ActiveTrack, TapFly and other smart features make professional looking video effortless
  • Obstacle Avoidance combined with sensor redundancy increases flight safety and reliability
  • Vision positioning paired with GPS and GLONASS ensures precise positioning indoor and outdoors
  • Fly by Phone over Wi-Fi for even easier flight
  • 12 month warranty

For anyone even contemplating this I would advise you read the comments from people that have bought one in the previous thread. Lots are coming with faulty batteries and drones direct simply tell you to contact DJI to sort them out and make it very hard for you to return them. Terrible customer service.

NOOO, I was already happy staying away from the deal last week. Heat added.
I have the Spark and the Air...do I need the Pro?

Yes, put them together and they are still only half as good as the Pro!!

This is a fab price for the combo kit and looks the part as well!

Get litchi missions running with this with remote live streaming to YouTube or FB and have some real drone filming fun!

These come new with DJI service care and once registered and enrolled you just simply do an RMA for any battery that gets sent to Belgium and they send you a new one back.. bypassing drones direct completely!!

I understand that but upon buying a brand new product I don't expect to have to deal with DJI and send off batteries for replacing. I have asked drones direct three times now that I do not want a repair and that i want to return the product for a refund.

All three times they have messaged back saying get in touch with DJI who will rectify the problem.

I'm going to try ring them tomorrow to see if I get anywhere that way, if not I'll have no choice but to contact my credit card company and get my money back that way.

Unless anyone here wants to pay me £650 for a Mavic pro with two broken batteries
It's quite common for battery charging issues with new drones, basically the cells in the battery are so flat after being sat in a box for months on end the chargers don't see the batteries on the charger. Lots of links and info / solutions about this if you have a Google.

Ordered one with the previous deal. Fast delivery (next day I guess), all works fine. Had 1h01 of flight with three batteries included (with a caution and landing at 20-25% remaining, just after the info it's low), so I assume it's OK.

However, I also ordered DJI Care Refresh for *this* model, but I got the one for Zenmuse X5S (it covers another gimball only). Now, I have to go through the process of returning it. And I'm wondering how they want to sort it out as I already scratched the activation code on the back of the card.

Hence, a bit mixed feeling.
I bought this last week before they ran out of stock and have used it several times. All batteries charged no problems. Used all the batteries without any issues. Amazing drone and footage is unreal.

How long do you get out the batteries out of interest?

When you say two broken batteries... what is broke? Are they not holding a full recharge after a discharge cycle? Just point direct drones to this thread and your comments... then call them and confirm that the serial batch we code of each cell in the kit you purchased is BRAND NEW and uncycled for use... they have a responsibility under their ADI reseller contract with DJI Europe to replace the items if not new, exchange the while item pack for new or rma it back to DJI for free

They don't even charge. First light just blinks multiple times like other buyers in the other thread have mentioned.

I don't want the hassle or having to get them repaired so I just want to send the product back for a refund. Which I'm allowed to do under there own returns procedure. 14 days from sale. Yet despite me telling them I don't want a repair I want to return they keep telling me to contact DJI rather than arranging the return.

If people are happy to send the batteries to DJI for repair then yes this is still a good deal. For me it's not

It might not be of any help at all, but I got a Spark in December and due to the weather didn't use it for a few weeks after a few flights and had the same single blinking light when I next tried to charge the batteries. This was apparently down to them going into 'sleep / hibernation' mode due to lack of use. Inserting them into the drone, powering it up and linking to the Go4 app 'woke' them up, after which they charged fine.

Might work, might not, but thought I'd share

Ok, the Air is great and the Spark s great, both have there uses, but how much better can the Pro be than the Air?, I know most of the tech stuff, but dont think its going to be that much better, be good to try one though

I escalated my complaint about having to contact DJI and quoted consumer law that states any item can be returned to the retailer within 30 days if faulty for a full refund. I got an apology and DPD return label within an hour. Email headofcustomerservice@buyitdirect.co.uk quoting your RMA number. Item was returned today.

Thank you very much. I will give them one more chance to reply with a offer to accept the return as I was the last to message them. If no luck I will be doing exactly what you have just said. Thanks!

Try calling them that's what I did. I know it's a premium number but at least I managed to get my return arranged. I was asked if I had contacted DJI, I simply told them that I shouldn't have to and that I expect DD to resolve the issue. I have since returned my drone and still waiting for confirmation of my refund.
Just checked mine and same situation 2 batteries in working order the other one DOA

People keep saying that this pro is better than the air but that depends on what you want to do.

The only 2 benefits are the Mavic can fly further and better transmission because it doesn't use wi-fi. I know people love this but I'm to scared of my drone going out of site and causing a problem that I'll get prosecuted for.

Second is the pro can record log footage so better for post production.

The Mavic air records in a higher bitrate so is actually better in terms of camera quality and has more annoying sensors lol

Occusync won't be worth anything come October when drone registration is compulsory.

Plus longer flight time.

Nothing will change. All drones will need to be registered in November but the general rules won't change other than flights within 1km of airports will extend to 5km. Occusync allows users to fly distances of about 4 miles and several thousand feet but its already against regulations to fly out of line of sight and over 400 ft so nothing is really changing.

Thought the airport increase was already in place. I currently live just over 1km from LCY. Ahhh, sounds alright then.. Thanks!
Hey guys, what’s the difference between this drone and the one in Argos for £799?
Not sure how much people are willing to pay but I was bought this drone a little while back:

droneplanet.co.uk/pro…te/

It’s pretty phenomenal but a tad expensive... apparently Parrot drones are the best but I can’t compare as it’s the only drone I have ever owned!

Thanks jony. Complete novice here - would you say those improvements justify the £150 hike?
Looks like the Argos deal has ended.
Parrot Anafi extended all the way
I can sense some strong legislation coming regarding drones of this weight.
Looks like drones direct have corrected mistakes made the last time this was advertised which made a good deal great, I think mine only cost around £400 in the end. However that was then still a useful £20 off and I dont think many other suppliers include three batteries.

Abroad is even worse! UK probably has some of the most relaxed rules there is and it's getting tighter all the time.

There's very few countries that will let you fly long distances and that's if they let you fly at all.

That's right but with the registration you'll have more chance of being prosecuted should you break the rules....that's if you get seen or anything goes wrong.

I'm sure people will still break rules and screw things up more but if you plan to fly legally then the air would make a great purchase.

If you still want to fly further and want better camera, better sensors in a more compact package then the air wins again as you can easily change to 5ghz which increases signal range like crazy.
