DJI Mavic Pro Platinum Drone Fly More Combo Kit - Grey - £799 at Argos Clearance Deal

This is the best deal I could find on the Mavic Pro Platinum drone with Fly More Combo (3 batteries, case, chargers etc). Most other places seem to be around the £900 to £1k price

This is a slightly better model than the dark grey Pro as it has quieter props and motors.

Argos also have the basic dark grey Mavic Pro at the same price in the clearance so the Platinum deal was a no brainer for me.

I think this is a better deal than the White Mavic Pro deal posted earlier at Drones Direct

Get one before they all run out !

What happens if it's never been updated?

Nothing. Just fear mongering.

People have already customised FW to change parameters.

This is a really good deal now just to find the £800 lol
These prices will drop again unless the restrictions for flying drones are reduced.

You fly a mavic without app or phone?
Get the Mavic Air.Had both and the air has far superior image quality.

Yes straight out of the box.

The Fly More has a controller I thought, that's the point of the combo

You still need a controller, and if the controller firmware is updated to force all drones to be grounded, or if mid flight forced to land or RTH you won't be able to stop it. That's the way it's heading, as it will be in next 20 years with cars

Updates are optional. They can’t force any updates.

No worries on my Dji to flyaway anyways! Never happens!
When it does to people it’s poor setup etc 🤪
Martin.Butler28/07/2019 16:15

What do you use it for?

Must be seriously restricted in usage without phone or app

Every other Fly More combo I've seen has a controller, and the Argos Q&A team replied with this: "Hi there,

The DJI Mavic Pro Box Contents

- DJI Mavic Pro (Fly More Combo)
- Remote Controller
- 3 x Intelligent Flight Battery for Mavic Quadcopter
- 6 x 8330 Quick Release Folding Propellers for Mavic Drone
- Gimbal Clamp
- Charger
- AC Power Cable for Charger
- 16GB microSD Card
- Micro-USB Cable
- RC Cable for Mavic Controller (Lightning)
- RC Cable for Mavic Controller (Reverse Micro-USB)
- 2 x RC Cable Slider
- Car Charger for Mavic Pro
- Power Bank Adapter for Mavic Charging Hub
- Battery Charging Hub for Mavic Pro
- Shoulder Bag for Mavic Pro"

Always think these are much better with a controller than a touchscreen app.

As long as you don't update through internet i don't see how they can ground them unless they have already have that in the software

Mavic comes with a remote as standard, i think the only dji drone with no remote was the spark which is a small wifi drone.
However you can fly the mavic with no phone or app but only close by using your sight to guide it from the ground

Was this the drone on its own or was it the Combo kit with the extras. That price seems really low, was it ex vat or inclusive and was it a ex demo or shop only deal as I haven't seen it for anywhere near that price at Currys

40mph not 40m/s as well ^
I did fancy a DJI but I've just got a Very 20% code and I think I'm gonna pick up a Parrot Anafi extended for £580 (Spark money!)
Just got the Mavic Pro combo from Drones Direct for £650.. need to flog my beloved Spark

You can disable the restrictions, i work next to Heathrow in a Hotel and the Mavic works like a charm once the Safe Geo Zone is disabled, we use it for Weddings.
Could not resist. Looking forward to trying it out on holiday in spain.

It was the fly more combo dji Mavic pro platinum. £613 inc. vat. Not a demo, brand new boxed. I randomly came across it on Currys/PC World for business.

Think it goes up to either 150 or 300m high straight out of the box
Holycow I want this, I flew my arcade camxl today, loved it, but this is a different league. Just minor issue of the cost, and the wife would go mad

Don’t forget to get hold of a metal ID plate if you’re taking your drone to Spain.

“The new law requires, both professional pilots and amateurs who use their drone as a hobby, that the aircraft and the remote control be clearly identified by a fireproof identification plate with the name of the owner and the necessary data to be able to contact it”

uavsystemsinternational.com

Germany has a similar ID plate requirement. I bought a pair from a German online seller on eBay for about £6 delivered. (eBay link)
Why are these Drones still,so dam expensive?
