great reviews for this cam against the Hero 7 Black - I have already ordered it direct from DJI - unfortunately if I send back will have to pay shipping fees so would reduce savings if I purchase this one. I'm assuming I can use the 30off voucher on other items.

plus £3.99 postage!

yep but still cheaper than direct from DJI

Doesn't give me that option....
Two comparison/review DJI and GoPro vids here, if anyone's interested:

Spoiler alert:
GoPro 7 Black seems better, until there's a firmware update for the DJI.

mmm the GoPro has worse stabilisation, worse sound recording, no front screen for framing, less water proof max depth, no HDR, no quick select option, etc, etc.

My interpretation from the reviews I've seen is that the DJI is much better and at a cheaper cost.

In the market for my first action camera, comparing this to the Hero 7 black I'm heavily swaying towards this. Is this compatible with the likes of the GoPro shorty pole?
i would still trust the gopro for reliability all day long
Pretty much every review says the same: "awesome camera, almost as good as Hero 7 black"
Almost. With one difference - you need to create DJI account and connect the camera to it. Otherwise it's just useless piece of plastic. WTF? While I can understand they need to control use of drones, this is only action camera. You should be able to unpack and record.
Personally I would go for Hero 7 black, still bettter. Tiny bit, but better. No account required and there are deals with similar price (not at the moment thought) - recently Currys was selling at 299. Just wait for it...
All the reviews that state the DJI is better that the GoPro 7 black = we got this DJI for free but we are not sponsored my them !!!!! Ha ha they make me laugh .
GoPro for build quality and reliability any day , the market doesn’t lie .

Ok, so the GoPro is 10m while the DJI is a paltry 1m more. The sound is great on my Hero 7 including the reduced wind noise compared to previous models.
The front screen I couldn't see it being very good to view on a bright sunny day. And the HDR function on the DJI doesn't work very well with fast frame rate.
30fps framerate for use when filming things such as sports the footage will look too jerky.
As well as not being possible to use the Rocksteady image stabilisation in this mode so the footage will only be as stable as you can hold it.
And as someone mentioned you need to sign up to DJI account.

At least the DJI can do HDR video whereas the GoPro only does HDR pics.

And you say 30fps will look jerky for sports footage, but the camera can do 4k 60?

True, just have to wait a bit and see how it fairs a month or two later.
I'm still keen on the latest Sony Action camera with flip up screen but a bit out of my price range at the mo.

I'd check a proper review on HDR limitations, stabilisation on par, and 1m difference waterproof.
Check lag on DJI.
I'd say they are on par but GoPro is more expensive unless buying from eglobal or equivalent.
Both good cameras. I use mine for cycling to record speed, elevation and mapping so GPS on my GoPro 7 black is perfect for this. Just so you are aware this feature is not available on the DJI.

Plus the hypersmooth is unbelievable. True gimbal like.
Annoying I had a 15% off voucher for Very. Used it on a £13 hair trimmer could of saved another £20!

Rock steady is not available with HDR switched on. I'm guessing GoPro favoured Hypersmooth over HDR.

As a Hero 7 black owner I’m pumped that GoPro has competition now! Looking forward to seeing how both cameras move forward! Not analysed the reviews but it certainly seems close!

Yes, I hate that 'create an account', it's like many security cameras, who are you sharing your video with?
Decisions, decisions. Never had a problem with Very myself and been sitting on a 20% off code for a while. £263.20

That said, I have an original GoPro HD with all the bells and whistles sitting in a box under the bed and unused for years, so maybe I don't need the DJI. Never stopped me buying stuff on here before though!

Cheers OP

Most YT "reviews" are basically adverts/promos of a product, given by the company to the "reviewer" for free.
They are just a video presentation of the spec sheet and not really an unbiased in depth review.
Poor features are often glossed over, because the reviewer knows they're promised other products from the company in the future.
My guess is the reviewer will also post a few follow up videos of the product in a month or so. Because that's part of the agreement for receiving the free product and it maintains the buzz around the product after its release.

The above applies also to GoPro and any other products you'll see being batch reviewed online.
Code doesn’t work?
