The lens features three aspherical layers that and effectively reduces glare and distortion, delivering crystal-clear image even in direct sunlight. A protective, anti-fingerprint coating on the Lens Filter Cap repels oil, water, dirt, and other small particles, enabling you to continue filming, even when conditions and terrain get tough.

RockSteady image stabilisation
RockSteady combines EIS with complex algorithms, delivering stable, shake-free footage no matter how heavy the action gets.

Got this last time it was on offer. Blown away by its performance! It’s more than an action cam, it can do home videos/YouTube vids etc!

Can attach accessories to it including an adapter for headphone jack to attach a good quality mic. Then it becomes a really good alternative for YT content creation especially if you are just starting out
Waiting for some osmo pocket combo deals !

I looked into that but saw in several places the audio only records in mono, instead of stereo with the onboard mic
Ordered. Couldn't resist. £229 including the charging kit. Great deal. Thanks.

Would you have much use for both? I guess they have key different features?

I also got it on the last deal, so I have two of these and a Hero 7 Black. I can tell you that the GoPro does produce noticeably superior video quality which makes sense as it uses HEVC (H265) where as this is just H264, yet the file sizes are very similar for the same duration.

If the cameras were equal in all other areas, I'd choose the GoPro, but I've already written in the other thread that they have serious reliability problems which don't appear to be so in the Osmo.

Based on IQ.. yes I would have gotten the GoPro also. It took me months to decide and watched tons of reviews. But as you said.. if it's not reliable it's useless. I'd hate to turn on camera.. do my climb and at the end to realise it froze and didn't record anything. 90% of the time sits on my helmet and am unable to take it off until the end of the climb. For what I use it, sacrificing a bit of IQ is not a big issue. Enjoy your camera
