Just been into Maplin before work to price the DJI spark as I have 2 on Santa’s Xmas Lists........online Maplin website they are £459 but in store from today they are now only £349 each !!!!! No cashbavk or voucher scam just £349 Straight up !! I’ve just done quick google search and this is by far and away the cheapest price I’ve seen.

If it's any use to people, I've had 3 "real" drones. I started with a Phantom 4. It was excellent in pretty much every way except the size. It was an absolute pain to lug around and I ended up leaving it in the car most of the time. Using it, you got a lot of looks. Then I moved onto a Mavic, which in my opinion is a Phantom 4 in a smaller body. I adored it, but there was still a lot of attention using it, not nearly as much. I took it on holiday twice and got some great footage. Last month I sold it and bought a spark. I managed to get £300 out of doing this. The spark is definitely not as good. The battery is about half as good and the gimbal isn't quite as good when moving around more aggressively and to be perfectly honest, i don't really use 4K, so i dont see much of a difference in the actual picture quality. Do I miss my mavic? When it's windy, and i've ran out of juice in the spark, yeah, a little. Do I regret the downgrade? Not at all. The spark is AWESOME. It's so small and tiny, so people don't give you the same trouble. It's astounding how quick it feels too. I'd recommend it to anyone. NOT FOR KIDS THOUGH. You'd be crazy to let a child loose on one of these.

Me and the Mrs had an argument when I came home with this

The phantom is so huge I hardly ever used mine. Better to have something small and always on you.

Good luck flying it in the UK without busybodys interfering as if you are setting off a nuclear bomb.

Well hello Mr Judgemental. Good of you to contribute.

a) its £350 (or £500), not 700
b) Its not for my kids, its for me (although I am a big kid)
c) I never complain about having no money

Glad I could help you out there

Combo pack is a great deal at £499 too. These were £699 a few weeks back as the kids were looking at them for Christmas.

Same price online now. Really tempted for that price...

3% cashback via quidco.

Been hoping these would drop to £300 but getting very tempted at this price. Not sure to bite or wait to Black Friday.

I’ve just spoken to one of the guys in the store next to my office, pretty much guaranteed it won’t be cheaper in Black Friday but did say there’s a price match policy if it did happen to be.......I am taking no chances at £349 it’s a steal!!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Great price for fly more I paid £599 a week ago Definitely worth the money at this price

So glad Ididn’t grab it last week now! £450 for the fly more combo, with the 10% NUS discount, is a no brainier. Cheers OP

Is this drone the similar to the Spark that is over £500 quid in Argos?

Fantastic and now glad I couldn’t make it to collect my reserve last week (every cloud)!!!!

Since I paid £599 last week. Could I buy this again and return the new unopened one with the old receipt saving myself £100???

This is the Black Friday price!

Fair price now. Crazy not to go for combo with remote and extra battery though. Would imagine barely useable controlling with hand gestures or mobile. I was holding out for a good price on a mavic...may get one of these to last until then.

WOW!!!

Hi guys I've read this is far better than the DJI phantom that Argos are doing for the same price.
What do you guys reckon ?
It looks a lot smaller in size.

If you bought it online you have 14 days to return it anyway.
If bought from maplins also I would go in and see about them giving you the difference.

Been into Maplin Llandudno they got the Red Spark in stock with £200 off. Amazing Santa will go get it today for me . BOOM

Ordered combo, great price, use otg lead with controller

hmm tempting...
Is this with the fly more KIT or the Phantom 3 from Argos?

"Please be aware that the DJI Spark controller is sold separately" - £129 (the controller is included in the £499 fly-more pack)

You can fly it purely via WiFi and your smartphone, but with limited functionality.

Still a good price though, heat added!

The phantom is a superior drone. This one is smaller and camera quality is less with no remote controller.

Phantom is much bigger though. All depends on what you want to do with these drones.

My opinion of course, but I'd personally rate the spark as better than the Phantom 3 standard.

OTG lead?.

Lead to connect phone to controller instead of wi-Fi,more stable connection and a must with android phones

Why?

I've been flying my mavic with a friend who flys his spark. He doesn't seem to be too happy with it. Battery time and distance seem to be the main issues. Not sure if he's doing something wrong but with the RC he's getting more or less the same distance as with wifi

I have this drone and it is so easy to get really good shots. It is well worth the now lower price

Can you then refund the drone and rebuy with the card?

free £100 voucher when you collect …free £100 voucher when you collect too!https://www.myfavouritevouchercodes.co.uk/maplin-voucher-codes

How does this work please?I clicked on £100 voucher link, but I can't see any evidence of having done so on the Maplin site.

For me the Phantom 3 wins hands down at the same price.

Sounds like he's in beginner mode

i'd have to say the spark as you need the older software on your phone to use the phantom 3 series. plus the spark has a lot more features and works seamlessly with the goggles too.

So, with the controller, and not in beginner mode, then what range should you be able to get with the Spark?

It's not as stable as the Phantom. You can throw it round and use it more as a toy. The Phantom will be better for actually taking photos and filming footage. £349 is a great price though and the Spark is a brilliant entry level drone. it depends what you're planning to use it for.

Yes, but out the box at £350 the phantom has a vastly longer range, better battery life, and I think better video quality.

The Phantom is so much bulkier you need a whole backpack to carry it around. The Spark will fit in a large pocket.
