Capaldi was brilliant. He made bad writing look good and his acting was superb and his chemistry with River should have been used more. I really miss him as the doctor.

Peter Capaldi was a great doctor hamstrung by poor political commentary. You only have to see how downhill it's gone now, some of the worst BBC TV going

Eccleston, with the help of Billie Piper, bought the Dr back from almost extinction.
