Best of the 'new' Doctor who. David T was excellent, and I still miss him (in a I'm still mourning the loss of Tom Baker kind of way), Matt Smith did a surprisingly good job, Chris E did too, but I'm a bit frustrated he hung around for one series only. Peter Capaldi, hmmm, he was OK, but I always felt he was trying 'too hard to be quirky' and as a result it didn't work. The storylines for Jodie W are decent, but it always feels like I'm watching a Doctor Who spin-off rather than Doctor Who itself.
Not the £6.08 some got it for from Amazon last week. But not bad.

Gotta agree with Christopher Eccleston's appearance being too short (although Paul McGanns appearance was even shorter!). I have to confess that I stopped routinely watching when Capaldi took over as the show for me took a step away from Sci-Fi and started to become more of a social/political drama - in fact you could be forgiven for thinking it was an episode of EastEnders if you channel surfed...

Quite a few sets were reduced, some people said they got the big BD set, but who knows. I know some were cancelled.

It's true, last season felt like a parallel universe doctor who (what it?) But the two spyfall eps were a welcome return to form.

Yes. I don't know if it's because we've had a series and a long time to get used to a) a female Doctor and b) a whole new team but I did enjoy Spyfall a lot more than I thought I would. But, I've always had the Master in my top two DW baddies.
The 3rd of the series wasn't as good.
Back to the first one though with JW. I did enjoy the Rosa Parks episode. It did feel like I was watching a spin off, but it was a good episode that highlighted something that probably many 'kids' today aren't aware of.
My daughter, now 8, had some homework last year, for Black history month, and as a result of that DW episode she chose to research and write about Rosa Parks.

If anybody's looking to start collecting the whole series, the first 8 blu ray sets (7 x series plus the Tennant specials) can currently be ordered individually from Amazon for a total of £107.80, they're all priced between £13.03 and £13.91, to save paying £11.20 for the cardboard box.

What a rip off. I keep some cardboard boxes and the bubble wrap. They are expensive to buy.

HEAT!
