UK guitar pop trio, Dodgy, emerged in the mid-1990s. Their self-titled debut album was filled with buoyant 1960s-styled pop tunes and their trademark three-part harmonies. Although follow-up albums--1995s HOMEGROWN and FREE PEACE SWEET from 1996--spawned several hit singles, the band was never able to make the leap into the mainstream. Despite hitting number 4 in the UK singles chart with "Good Enough", the band were superceded by Brit Pop giants, Blur and Oasis. Ironically, both bands also wore their "classic" British pop influences on their sleeves. Lead singer--Nigel Clarke--left the band in 1997, to pursue a solo career. A rejigged line-up returned for the album REAL ESTATE in 2001--the recording funded by donations from the band's fanclub--but struggled to make a mark. In the summer of 2007, the original trio announced they would reunite for a short tour.
