Dolce gusto drop £60 in John Lewis, online and instore.

£139.00 on Amazon so this really is a great price.

With the dolce gusto credit that can be applied for, upto £50 credit with this model it basically makes the machine £10.

I know the pods are expensive but you can’t deny 50% off the amazon price makes this surely a good deal!?

Speaking from experience these are like the soda streams of coffee machines. Makes a decent cup and a fine novelty while you have capsules. But The expense of pods, the weird sci-fi design and the non recyclable aspect of the pods meant this was relagated to the cupboard after about a year. Now have a bean to cup and wouldn’t go back!

It's a Krups machine so is excellent value
Rather like printers, the on-going running costs will be far more than the machine, because that's where they make their money!

This is true, however as with printers there are ‘aftermarket’ brands available now bringing the cost per drink to about half the price of the genuine capsules..

Yes,
Just as in the picture. The hot chocolate ones I have come with two capsules, chocolate and milk. Both the chocolate and the coffee ones I have give creamy tops. If I was home I’d take a photo

I can't get that link to work could you please post it again. I recycle as much as possible and I feel guilty about the coffee pods are these any good.
What's the diff between this and an expensive one... especially if you use the same pods? What are the ones with a separate milk thing ?

I don’t believe dolce gusto do one with a separate milk thing.
Nespresso do, I went for this as parents have a Nespresso with separate milk one and it’s a pain to clean it out. There is minimal to no cleaning with this 🏻

i have one but only get like 1mm of froth on top, do different machines froth different.
These machines really feel like false economy to me. As someone posted above, it's the same as cheap printers, expensive cartridges.
I've been thinking of a coffee machine for some time now. I currently use a stovetop and manual frother to make a half decent latte.
I think I'll just wait and get a good bean to cup machine. It'll be a lot more expensive, but I hope it'll give me a better experience in the long run than these things.
I see these offers come up often and usually talk myself out of it because of all the wasted plastic (2 pods per cup) and I could put the money towards a proper bean to cup machine. I'm still in limbo but it's a decent offer. I'm still using my older Dolce Gusto machine after several years and the compatible capsules from Lidl don't taste too bad.
Great machines but the prices of pods have skyrocketed. 3 boxes (24 drinks if having the 2 pod nice milky coffees etc) for £12 in asda. I buy 50 loose mocha pods (just the coffee pod not the milk pods) for £12.49 on eBay, and use fresh milk and a £5 hand milk frother

True but you can buy coffee pods on eBay much cheaper. A lot of unbranded options too.. unlike the Tassimo machines which only work with official barcoded coffee pods..

Fair enough, although there plenty of things on here I don’t like, nor would necessarily buy. But I would still vote hot/ cold if it’s a deal... there will be others out there who’s preference differs and who will benefit knowing about the offer..
Great deal! Got a extra 7 quid off with staff discount 😁

I thought it was 4 times better
Good price, but anyone who wants a coffee machine over instant coffee should forgo this capsule stuff and save up straight for bean to cup or a grinder and espresso pump which you’ll end up wanting eventually anyhow.

The credit was advertised on some other dolce models on JL site but not on this model. Thanks for replying 😁
The Lidl green pods latte? are better than the original ones. Much creamier and they are only 2.75 a pack.

Tried these, I thought they tasted very synthetic, personally wouldn’t buy again.
Using same pod does it matter what machine you use?
