Dolce Gusto Mini Me £29 Instore Tesco

LocalFound 23rd Dec 2017
Just been into Tesco in Wath, Rotherham and they had just put a pallet of the Dolce Gusto Mini Me coffee machines out. About 10 left when I got one.

Cheaper than the previous Tesco direct price and similar to what it has been on sale in the past.

Typical i spent most of December searching for a deal on one and ended up getting a different one last week but couldn’t resist another at this price.

Hope this helps someone just before Christmas.

These things should be free... the amount they charge for the pods! Nice to see some “compatible “ pods becoming available

Don't the pods in Lidi fit this?
Had one of these, and they are pretty good in fairness. Make a really nice cup of coffee. But like M4rky2011 said, pods aren't cheap. A normal price is around 4.99 for 16 if I remember correctly. Plus if you are anything like me, and like a full cup or relatively strong coffee, you end up using 2 pods per cup.

If I was to buy another coffee machine that used pods, I'd get a nespresso compatible one. Much more choice when it comes to pods and pod prices. And they are generally though to make a better cup of coffee, which is pretty important (though this model is still good).

Alternatively just bite the bullet and get a proper espresso machine. Definitely worth the money (one I got was around £100), and you will save that in the long run by buying beans and grinding the coffee yourself, or just get pre-ground coffee. Plus many machines are ese sache compatible (not all though so be careful), and these are just little disk shaped sache's of pre-ground coffee, similar to a disk shaped teabag. These are good as you don't have the mess of coffee grinds getting everywhere in your kitchen. Though a bit more expensive than just getting loose coffee, still much much cheaper than any coffee pods.

No, pretty sure they are for Nespresso machines

I read the Lidl ones are compatible but not tried them. A friend of mine has a Dolce Gusto (not sure on make) and he gets 3 packs of dolche Gusto Americano pods from Costco for £10 so will check them in the new year

Possibly, I could be wrong. Like I said, makes a good cup of coffee, so if you can get cheaper pods you wont be upset at your pruchase. Though with the 3 packs for 10, I've seen deals like that where its a pack of three different kinds (ie a lugo, a espresso and a hot chocolate). Again, may not be this deal from cosco.

Yes they do. Only tried the cappuccino ones so far.
Not tried these yet, but have ordered some.

I signed up to their news letter and got a 30% discount code.

Also if you register this machine you'll receive £30 web credit (3 x £10) for the Dolce Gusto website.
Best thing I ever bought thought it would be a gimmick and not used as much as it is also thought pods were a rip off but now happy to pay the price as they are so good
A known issue (I've seen it myself with the Mini Me) is that the POD can swell when injected with water, as it (sometimes) doesn't "deliver" the drink. As a result, you are unable to lift the front, and so unable to remove the pod holder. A simple solution is to use a screw, yes...a screw to puncture the pod from below (it's messy, when you withdraw the screw) but it's harmless, and it works in seconds.

Oh, 1 other thing...the water tank is small, about a 0.8 litre capacity I believe, other than that, it's ALL good. It doesn't have a barcode reader (as do my Tassimos) BUT (unlike Tassimo machines) you are able to deliver ONLY water (hot or cold) for normal tea & coffee if you wish, at the flick of a switch... simples.
Dropped mine whilst putting it in the cupboard this morning now the hot won’t work. Anyone know a fix or will it be bust?
