Dolce Gusto pods 3 for £10 at asda

Found 28th Dec 2013
Just got a dolce gusto machine and been looking for anywhere to get a discount online on the pods. Couldn't find any cheaper than the generic £3.70 odd for a box online.

Just been to asda and saw they were 3 for £10 which isn't a massive saving but it doesn't seem like there is ever much of a reduction on these!

Is it? From what I could see they had one or two of the varieties at £9 for 3 packs but that didn't include delivery costs (so would need to order something else to make it free) but most varieties were £10+ and there was no option to mix and match.

I could be wrong though.

I looked before I posted and I saw the same deal posted about 6 weeks ago that had since been expired so I presumed the deal had ended and was now on again.

Been to morrisons, Sainsburys and asda today only asda seemed to have any of these coffees, either everybody had a machine from argos or they are slow in deliveries.

Tesco do 'em for £3.77 a pack, or thereabouts.

been picking these up been on offer since before xmas. They never seem to be on offer so this is good

Heat added.got this machine and the tassimo and can safely say the dolce gusto latte is far superior to the costa coffee stuff on the tassimo.

cheaper from official store if you don't mind 1 box being random and buying in a bit more bulk:

hotukdeals.com/dea…463

Cheaper (mostly) if you use subscribe and save on amazon (set to 6 monthly and no commitment to buy again) and free delivery and you get the following types (48 pods) for £9.49:

cappuccino
latte
Americano
mocha
lungo
café crema
espresso

Forgive the spelling. Other varieties are c.£10.49 with S&S.

My experience so far with the official store is that it is one of the worst bits of customer service I have encountered!

When I bought my machine I went to their online shop to use the £10 voucher, ordered 5 boxes of all different varieties.

When the ordered went through it said it wasn't shipped as 4 were out of stock, 10 days later and it still hasn't shipped because 2 of them are still out of stock. Total farce given that that is the only product they sell, coffee pods!

Can't you also get 15% off if you have 5 boxes or more set to be delivered on the same day? I was tempted to do this but found the interface for setting up subscriptions unintuitive. You need to have 5 subscriptions to save 15% but you can only make one at a time, seemed to suggest to me that I would have to pay full price for the first set of boxes because by the time I ordered the 5th I would have already made payment for 4 of them.

Stock is sometimes low on certain varieties, no idea why this is. Found customer service to be ok though. I've had 3 machines and always order from the online store. Did have a brief issue with entering a voucher for my first machine but customer service sorted it out within the hour.

Yes but that alone is a deal breaker really, unless it was a fair bit cheaper than other sources. It's basically a one purpose shop (to sell pods) and they are items that don't exactly perish quickly so there is no excuse to be out of stock for so long on a number of the types of pods they offer.

There isn't anywhere else that has better overall variety in stock though. Go into any phsyical shop and you are generally talking only 3-8 varieties available. On Amazon the price is much more expensive for a lot of varieties even though it is well priced for some - plus you always have to buy 3 of a kind. For example try and buy some Chococino or Marrakesh Tea from Amazon.

Fair points, I can't dispute variety/price too much. I guess if you order from there when you still have plenty in your cupboard then it doesn't matter if its three weeks before they ship it.

3 for £8.89 in Costco if anyone has membership.

If you buy the Cappuccino Ice variety from 99p stores and make it on the hot setting it's nicer than the proper one!

I bought 4 boxes - saved myself a fortune.... (Thanks to the person who posted it on here.)

I bought the deal at Falkirk Asda this last Monday 6 January 2014.

If only they could be bothered to keep the shelves stocked up - along with the fairy that is never in!
