had one of these, awful coffee and uses sterilised milk.

good price if you like rank coffee though

If your making coffee you use your own milk. Their milk is only used for things requiring 2 pods, such as latte or hot chocolate. Coffee wise its pretty nice

wife bought one...you can use normal milk, but agreed its awful
also, unreliable...on 3rd in one year and we use it about 3 times a week
waiting for it break down so we can buy a decent machine

Used mine daily for nearly 2 years and it's been faultless. Just needed descaling once and I live in hard water area. Very convenient and the coffee is every bit as good as any other machine coffee I've tasted. Unless you're using a fresh coffee machine, you won't taste any better.

This is a good deal and many people, me included like the coffee. We have two of the earlier models, one at home and one in my Wife's office. After two years the one in the office is starting to show signs of distress but it has been hammered.

Therefore, we decided to get this newer model and my wife will move her older machine to a meeting room for occasional use.

Its all about personal taste, but rate it on the deal.......its better than half price!
Its on offer at Argos too but still at £99.99

Brilliant machine and I suspect the people saying it's bad are doing it wrong.

Tempted to buy this for my office

Mind suggesting how we are doing it wrong?
I can't get anything from these machines to taste nice... never thought of using my own milk mind you.

Thanks!

Nice deal for sure, £10 cheaper than ours was.

We have one - like the coffee but the proportions are a little hit and miss. You have to manually judge the amount of water you put through each pod when using 2 pod coffees.
It would be better if i could find a decent priced supply of pods, or somewhere with many sorts in stock. Mocha is mail-order only

This machine makes delightful and beautiful coffee. Seriously, people - use your own milk. The powered milk drinks might taste nice but they do have an artificial flavour. Pick up a Bodum Coffee Frother for £10 and you're 90% of the way towards a shop purchased cappuccino or latte.

That said, I'm getting rid of mine now that I've got a bean to cup machine. But the pre-ground 100% Arabica coffee capsules in the Dolce Gusto really are very good.

When you mail order - do so in bulk. Actually, it was the need for another £35 top-up that made me to to a bean-to-cup machine. Beans are much cheaper and get the cost per cup down to about 10p :P

This machine is reduced in price because there is a newer version available.

I have tried the coffee in a couple of department store demonstrations and it is definitely
better than instant but does not compare with bean to cup machines. Although machines that grind the coffee are more expensive the coffee costs are about 1/3 and you have the option of trying different beans. I would recommend delonghi as they are reliable and produce great coffee.

As for this deal good on price but not great and very expensive coffee.

I used this machine daily, and find it brilliant, my two daughters and an aunt now have one after experiencing my coffee/chocolate etc. Would not be without it.
The only problem is our Irish Setter keeps nicking the pods to lick out the milk

Good price if you like pretend coffee. It tastes ok and is very convenient but is very artificial. Pods are expensive too.

I'll have to pop round for a coffee and you can show me how your doing it

Put the £64 towards a Nespresso machine. The best capsule coffee in my opinion.

Garbage, makes terrible tasting coffee, avoid like the plague. Buy an Aerobie Aeropress for £18 and treat yourself to some *real* coffee!

any coffee expert out there who can recommend an expresso machine for making fresh ground coffee rather than instant rubbish...?

I also recommend the De'longhi - I went Bean to Cup last month and I LOVE it! However, before going Bean to Cup I had this Dolce Gusto and that was good too. It makes a good cup of coffee, consistently and cleanly, each time. However it does get expensive (you will be bulk buying the pods at £35 a time) and you cannot buy different coffee flavours or types. You're stuck with the somewhat unethically sourced Nescafe coffees.

Plus they make quite a lot of waste as the pods are not recyclable.

Really good. Heat Added.

Top machine, my brother got me one for Xmas, and then my dad and now our friends have got them also.......... at this price!

Really good machine .Very nice Coffee lovely hot choc though

Couldn't agree more! LOVE our Nespresso machine!
They're not cheap, and the pods work out about 30p each - but well worth it if you love coffee - I struggle to beat it when I go out for coffee now!

Did get ours at a bargain price though ;-) Comet were discontinuing selling the model, so it was £100 instead of £200. This was only a couple of weeks ago, so might be worth looking at the manager's specials table if anyone's in Comet!

Back to the orginial post though - we did look at that machine, and that deal does seem a very good price compared to ones we saw.

I have a simple expresso maker, cost about £15 and nothing to go wrong, fresh milk in microwave, coffee in expresso, when milk is warm give it a quick whisk with a hand whisk. Lovely, and no excess packaging waste. Better still if you have a grinder, freshly ground coffee is the best there is!

These plastic pod based coffee makers are too big, too expensive and don't give the best coffee. Most get resigned to the back of a cupboard after a few weeks.
