Went into sainsburys this morning looking for a bottle of champers to celebrate a my brothers new baby and saw the Dom was half price. Not sure if its nationwide or store specific. But would make a great special gift for someone.

I gave heat and it went down 1 :?

**** the credit crunch!!!!

What vintage was it? Great price but I'd like to check the vintage.

my boy is due on saturday, definately will pop to my local and see if it's on offer

Water is free from the tap, this makes this particular beverage infinitely more expensive and therefore to be voted infinitely colder.

Ha you see enough rudeboys drinking this in the clubs.... wasting all there money.tempting price i must say hmmm

Not saying this is a bad deal by any means but weren't Asda selling this for £30 just before Christmas - althought I think that was a loss leader and only involved 700 bottles nationwide.

But for £50 now its a cracking price. Hot from me.

I guess the vintage is 2000.

Original Poster

I did buy a bottle but unfortunatley not for me, so I wont be tasting any of it.

£50 for a bottle of drink???? 2 ltr bottle of coke for £1.20 far better value for money

Presumably all those voting hot have tasted it, and know the difference from lower priced champagnes, and find it worthy of paying a tenner a glass for this compared to the fiver a glass for the NV moet, or even some of the thirtyish quid bottles that have been dropped to ten to fifteen quid by some supermarkets recently?

Its COLD, I also doubt the majority voting have tasted it, and so their heads are up their Khybers.

This is really a HUKD version of "the emperor's clothes".

Na, it looks like it is on the shelf in the store, not the fridge, if you want it cold, stick it in a fridge

Lol, i dont think i could bring myself to drink it if it was that price....maybe frame it or something lol. £50 for a drink could buy me a nice pair of shoesies, hehe.

I suppose as a pressie for a drink lover (or a ''rudeboy'' as someone previously stated, haha) might be well recieved. Yeah the rudeboys drinking the 'cool' drinks just make the bevvies status drop hugely so maybe thats another reason why its on sale.

x

heat added anyway....x

Red Hot Deal. This is excellent champagne. Usually pay around 70 a bottle.

Yeh voted cold. Tesco cava is only £3.99 isn't it? ;-)

This is really, really nice. Will go to the shop see if it's there later, as I just had my Sainsbury's delivery :-(
A few for us and one to take to our function this weekend, bargain

superb find...worth the trip...off to get a case or 2...deffo heat and rep...nice 1 thanks x !

Presumably you have tasted it? give us a proper review before we waste our money!

Good price, if you can afford £50 for a bottle of champers!

If you're not too fussy, try Sainsbury's 2006 Vintage Cava, currently half price @ £5.99:thumbsup:. I have never tasted Dom Perignon, but do find this stuff just as nice, if not nicer than some of the £20-£30 champagnes.

Good price.

Don't like champagne personally, but that matters not.

Wish I was rich. Heat.

My God can't beleive some people are actually comparing this to Cava. Cava tastes like sparkling water with a dash of a wine. I agree some champagne also tastes crap but belive me this stuff tastes lovely and is worth the 50.00 if you have the cash.

HOT!!!!

You can't beat the great smell of Brut. Splash it all over...

MMMMMMM, sparkling wine

Lmao,

Dont like this stuff so not voting either way. ;-)

Only Cristal for me or Bolly as a cheaper option.

A good price!
Cash and carry price is £63.39 plus VAT, and that's not normally a bad price for it... so yes, good!

If you're after something cheaper try Veuve Clicquot normally about £30 a bottle, lovely though. Much better (at least to my taste) than Moet.

Just goes to show you can't teach class..........

Not voted as no vintage stated.

horrid stuff

voted COLD

Not as good as Lambrini.

cold.

It's no sex panther

Have soeme heat from me. A bit to pricey for me but a good deal nonetheless.

You exude ignorance in this post - well done!

If this is a bad price then show me where you can buy this cheaper... isn't that the point of HUKD?
We're not interested in your uncivilized palate... we don't all have trailer-park taste buds.

Treat yourself to a whole bottle of this (not just a glass) served at the correct temperature (not freezing cold!) and then tell me it's no different to Moet!
